Jungkook opened his eyes, and a glistening brown looked back.
"You are the last person I want to see, after nearly dying," he said, his voice hoarse. He sat up and adjusted his eyes to where he was. Back in the building, in the infirmary, the lights dimmed down. He felt the bandages around his waist and his bruises covered. "How's Taehyung?"
"He was frantically shaking when I arrived, lucky he's smart enough and didn't take you to the hospital, I can't imagine having a civil conversation with them about what happened to you." He squeezed the IV drip hanging from his arm, the droplets wrestling to enter him. "He was reluctant to leave but he had an exam he had to rush to."
"I was hidden, he shouldn't have seen me." Jungkook breathed out, his eyes were on the ceiling, his head rested on his arm, "I just wanted to see him."
"He saw you the second you were there, he said he felt a presence watching him."
"He was always so observant."
Jungkook twisted his head to the noise coming through the door and then the head peeking in soon after. "Glad to see you alive and breathing" Yoongi smirked, "I found out who he is."
Jungkook only nodded, lips sealed in a thin line. "Okay."
Namjoon raised his brows, suspiciously, before turning back to Jungkook.
"He goes to the same university as-"
"I got it yoongi, thanks, but maybe later would be a better time."
"You got it boss." And with that, he shut the door again, heading back to where he came from. He never could read the room.
Namjoon walked closer and Jungkook waited for some form of pain from his hands, a punch would be ideal if he could choose. But instead, Namjoon pulled his blanket tighter around his body and softened his eyes. "I told Jin I was in love with him."
Jungkook widened his eyes, not expecting that, not right now anyways. He waited for him to carry on.
"And then I ran away," he sighed, ending it on an anticlimactic.
"That was very romantic of you," Jungkook deadpanned. "He must have been over the moon to see that."
"Fuck you." He swore, but there was no malice in his voice, more like defeat. "At least I'm not avoiding him like some-"
It was comical the way Namjoon stilled his sentence when Jin walked in as soon as he said that. Their eyes locked and for a moment Jungkook thought Namjoon was going to pass out. Before either could get a word out, Namjoon checked his watch in panic. "I forgot I had to be somewhere, I'll see you later."
Jin reached an arm to stop him, breathing out his name, but somehow Namjoon swiftly avoided it. He headed towards the door, his head hung loose as he made an escape. Namjoon didn't have anywhere to be, Jin would have known if he did, since he was the one that planned his schedules.
The door clicked shut and Jungkook waited for the next set of drama to unfold. He watched as Jin crossed his arms, the vein in his neck protruding out and before he knew it, he walked closer to Jungkook and pulled the blanket even tighter on his body. His hands mimicked Namjoon's as he tucked it further under his chin.
If Jungkook didn't know any better he would have thought they teamed up to murder him; through coddling and blanket fluff.
Listening to the curse words leaving Jin's lips was all he could do as he was being roughly cared for. The IV drip being checked again, his pillow fluffed out for more time than necessary before he saw the man rushing out the door. Another set of vulgar words spilling out.
