The Full Circle.6 Months Later...
Taehyung sat in an uncomfortable silence. Namjoon had been staring intently at him for the past five minutes without uttering a word. He leaned in closer and backed away multiple times. And then finally the words fell from his lips.
“You’re fired.”
Taehyung blanked out, he set his lips in a thin line, and then let out the breath he was holding.
“I’ve been holding on because of Jungkook, but I can’t keep paying you for nothing.”
Understandingly, he nodded, he kept pestering Jungkook about it anyways. A relief washed over him. “I understand.”
“Since our concept has changed, and we have ventured in a different path than usual-” he raised his brow, “-oh you understand.”
“Of course, I told Jungkook to stop the payment the second he told me, I couldn’t take advantage of you or Jin.” He placed his hand over Namjoon's and squeezed, sending a warming smile over to the man that had finally looked relaxed. “I might not be someone that holds any real sense of authority or any sort of deep emotional connection, but I’m happy and proud of you.”
Namjoon let out a loud laugh, he tilted his head back and then crossed his arms, his eyes flickered towards the frame sitting beside his laptop. A photo of him and Jin in matching suits sharing a glass of champagne, with a ring on their finger. “I think he saved my life more than once, I think it’s my time to repay him back and keep him safe.”
“Keeping him safe.” Taehyung repeated, his mind wandered over to Jungkook briefly.
“We still hold guns, but instead of firing to kill we fire to protect, it’s new, a lot less bloody which is why I’m having to let you go.”
“I know.”
“Jungkook is working extra shifts for that apartment hunting, he even accepted a job to protect a bratty teenage actor, so treat him extra nice, he’s even more aggravated than usual.”
Taehyung chuckled, he drummed his fingers on the desk, dreamily. And then just as quickly widened his mouth. “So that’s why he asked, whether he could shoot a teenager or not.”
Before Namjoon could say anything, the man in conversation peeked his head through the door, settling his eyes on Taehyung. He smiled widely, his teeth showing as he winked at him. Taehyung flushed red at the simplest of actions.
“Hey sweetheart, are you busy?” he asked, tilting his head to the side. “Can you come to my room after so we can make out?”
“Sure.”
Namjoon stared at Taehyung for an explanation, the words that fell from Jungkook's lips were words he never wanted to hear. Jungkook nodded at Namjoon before disappearing back from where he came from.
“I told him communication is important in a relationship, and he’s taking it very seriously.”
“Well, isn’t that just sweet, I guess the therapy is helping.”
Taehyung stared at Namjoon, a beat too long for his liking. Therapy? Had he heard it right? He thought back to every conversation they had the past week, but no mentions of therapy had been brought up. It was something Taehyung was sure he would have remembered, he wasn’t an insensitive animal to forget something so vulnerable and important.
“He's going to therapy?”
“yes”
“he never told me.”
