Vincent

Looking at Alyssa's face, I saw a tear emerging from her eyes. I could feel her emotions as I held her. I heard echoes but couldn't make them out or understand what they were saying. I didn't know what to do. I felt helpless; I held her hand and hoped she could feel my touch. "Alyssa, I'm right here," I said, holding her close.

"Anymore ideas?" Jacob asked.

"For some reason, we can't move her, and examining her could trigger another energy blast. Also, we might hurt Vincent in the process. So, I'm all out of ideas." Dr. Solus said.

"There must be something we can do," Izzy cried.

"She'll be fine honey, we just have to wait." Annabeth embraced Izzy.

Izzy started breaking down crying on Annabeth's arm. "It's all my fault; I knew her head was hurting; I should have taken her to the doctor."

"Hey, it's not your fault. Yesterday, you told me not to blame myself for not being able to help Audrey. I'm sure as hell not letting you blame yourself for this." Annabeth said. "None of us saw this coming."

"I want to go home, but I can't leave her here," Izzy said.

"Go, Isabella; I will contect you if anything changes," Jacob said.

"Thanks, Jacob. Do you think Vincent will be alright?" Izzy asked.

"When Alyssa was in the hospital, Vincent never left her side, and I think that was when he knew Alyssa was his mate," Jacob said. "Now that Vincent has found his true mate, I wonder what is going on in his head right now, now that he knows her."

"Common, we'll go home for a few hours, then come back." Izzy said.

I saw that Izzy was initially hesitant but let Annabeth lead her away.

"Doc, do you have any idea how long we'll be staying here?" Jacob asked. "I've been meaning to ask something."

"None, but what did you want to ask me?" Dr. Solus said.

"This might be a stupid question cause it could be the mate bond between them but why was Vincent the only one affected when we tried to move Alyssa?" Jacob said.

"I don't think it was the mate bond, Jacob. But it would make sense if it was." Dr. Solus said.

"Ever since Vincent met her, he has barely stopped thinking about her." Jacob said.

"Astarot and Dahlia made a connection before Vincent and Alyssa did themselves." Dr. Solus said.

"Vincent, the Elders are here, we must protect our mate." Astrarot said.

"If they dare take her from us, we will make them pay. Father will help." I growled.

"Vincent, the Elders!" Jacob touched my shoulder.

I looked at the people in the distance and saw Scarlett and Preston walking toward us.

"Take it easy on them; shifting out of anger is not going to help anyone, especially your mate," Jacob looked me in the eyes.

"I won't make any promises, Jacob. I'm the White Dragon; they will submit to me; I'm one of the goddess's last descendants, and I'll be damned if they take what's mine." I said. "Doc, watch over Alyssa while I deal with this."

Dr. Solus nodded while Jacob and I walked toward the elders.

"Scarlet, Preston. What are you doing here?" I asked.

"We came to check on the situation." Scarlett said.

"You could have called Alexandria for that," I said.

"You really want to challenge an Elder, Prince Vincent? We both know that you'll never beat me," Scarlett smirked.

"Astarot and I will tear you apart. You have no idea what I'm capable of." My blue eyes turned white. "Submit!"

"Everybody, clam down. I know our last encounter was a bit rough, but let's not repeat that," Preston said. "I promise we are only here to help,"

"Does this bitch have to be here as well?" I hissed.

"Watch it, boy!" Scarlett growled.

"Scarlett and I are a team, and she has promised to control her temper this time, and with respect, Prince Vincent, I expect you to do the same." Preston said.

Every instinct told me to tear Scarlett's head off. But Jacob is right; shifting or instigating a fight would create more trouble.

"Very well, but you only do something with talking to me first."

"That's fine, right Scar," Preston said.

"Understood," Scarlett grunted.

"What is Alyssa's status?" Preston asked me.

I explained the events leading up to their arrival to Scarlett and Preston.

"So now we can only wait until Alyssa wakes up or there's any change." I explained.

"So how long since it happened?" Scarlett asked.

"It's been around eight hours since Alyssa collapsed," I lowered my head. Is there anything you'd like to share?" I glared at Scarlett.

"What? Am I not allowed to think?" Scarlett said with a sarcastic tone.

"I know damn well what you think of her, so forgive me for being skeptical." I growled.

"Guys! You both promised." Preston yelled.

Scarlett and I glared at each other. Astarot was growling at me to lunge at her to rip her apart.

"Guys!" Dr. Solus yelled out to us. "I'm getting some strange readings from Alyssa.

"What kind of readings?" Preston asked him.

"I'm not sure, but her mind is becoming more active." Dr. Solus said.

"Mind of I have a look?" Preston said.

"What do you think you could do?" I growled.

"Preston has been trained to use his magic to heal. You're lucky he's even offering to help you." Scarlett growled.

"Scarlett is right; I can use my dragon magic to heal Alyssa. I've been trained to use my magic outside my dragon form, and as a dragon myself, I can understand those reading from her better." Preston said.

That's impossible. I thought dragons couldn't use magic outside their dragon form. But with enough training, we can use our magic.

"He's not wrong about that, and besides, I've dealt with this situation before, so extra hands will be helpful." Dr. Solus said.

"Okay, but please be careful. Jacob call Isabella, she needs to know whats going on." I said.

Preston and Doctor Solus kneeled next to Alyssa and started to use his magic. "Strange, something is going on in her mind. The doctor isn't wrong."

What is going on with her?

"EVERYONE GET BACK!" Doctor Solus shouted.

Before I responded, Solus grabbed me away and did the same with Preston as another magical blast pushed us against the sand. The light blinded me. I tried to turn on my dragon vision to see what was happening around me, but it wouldn't turn on. I called Astarot, but he didn't say a word; then, my focus turned to Alyssa. My fears were confirmed when I looked back and saw that she wasn't there.

"AYLSSA! She's gone,"

"No, Vincent, look up!" Jacob said.

I knew she was alive through the mate bond, but I looked up to the sky and saw the most beautiful sight I'd ever seen. She was flying amongst the clouds, catching the sunlight on her wings.

It was a giant Golden Dragon. My Mate. My Queen.
