~I Want You To Hurt Like You Hurt Me Today And... I Want You To Lose Like I Lose When I Play~
—————————————————————————

"It's no easy thing for a man to be a dragonslayer but dragons can kill dragons and have...The simple truth is this: We have more dragons than Aegon.", daemon said. Rhaenyra was beside Vaemrys who seemed to be calculating. "Viserys spoke often of the Valyrian histories. I know them well. When dragons flew to war, everything burned.", Rhaenyra spoke. Vaemrys turned to her sister. "I do not wish to rule over a kingdom of ash and bone", Vaemrys said. "Are you considering the Hightowers' terms, Your Grace?". "...nor do I want to rule over an imaginary one.".

"May I speak out of turn, Your Grace?", rhaenyra asked. "As if you have not enough already", daemon mumbled. "Mm", Vaemrys hummed to rhaenyra. "As Queen, what is your true duty to the realm. Ensuring peace and unity or that you sit the Iron Throne, No matter the cost?", rhaenyra questioned. "That's your father talking.", daemon said and began walking away in annoyance. "My father is dead.", Vaemrys said to him, causing him to stop and listen to her.

"And he chose me as his successor", Vaemrys said to rhaenyra, who avoided her eyes. "To defend the realm and it so happens, I cannot ensure the peace and unity of the realm because my claim is currently being threatened.", Vaemrys said. "I cannot sit back and wait for the worst. I will do whatever it takes to sit the Iron Throne, it is my Birthright", Vaemrys then looked down at the painted table. "I will fight for it.", she said. Daemon stood beside Vaemrys.

"Clear the room", she said. Rhaenyra looked at her sister. Vaemrys shook her head and watched rhaenyra leave out the door.

"Daemon, I trust you", Vaemrys said, looking down at the fire place in front of her. "As do I", he replied. "I trust you to do the right thing", he continued. "I plan for our sons to fight. I must have Aegar and Vaemron ready at least.", Vaemrys said. "Of course", he agreed. "I must also request something of you", she looked up at her husband.

"Death to those who do not Bend the Knee. Knight or Not", She said. Daemon nodded. "I will feed them to the dragons.", he said. Vaemrys looked around the slick dark stone room. "Tomorrow, I will refuse The Usurper's Terms.", Vaemrys said.

Vaemrys sat at the end of the painted table, zoning out, she thought of the many ways she could attack aegon and Alicent. "The Lord of the Tides! Lord Corlys Velaryon...And his wife, the Princess Rhaenys Targaryen.", was announced.

Vaemrys stood up. "My lords", Corlys greeted. "Lord Corlys, it brings me much relief to see you hale and healthy again.", Vaemrys said. Corlys stood still and quiet for a few seconds, "I'm very sorry about your father, Princess. He was a good man", Corlys said. Vaemrys' smile lessened. "My Queen", she corrected with a closed lip smile. "Where is Daemon?", Corlys asked. Vaemrys watched him intently. 'Why does he ask for Daemon? What does he need to say to him that he cannot to me.' Was her main focus. "There were other concerns which demanded the Prince's attention.", Vaemrys answered. Corlys looked at her and began to walk over to the painted table.

"You declared Allies?", Corlys asked. "Yes", Vaemrys said and walked over to her original spot in front of the table. "Too few to win a war for the throne.", Corlys responded. "we would also hope to have the support of houses Arryn, Baratheon, And Stark.", rhaenyra said from the other side of the table. "Hope...is the fool's ally.", Corlys said. "Both Arryn and Baratheon Share Blood with House Targaryen. They all Swore oaths to me", Vaemrys said. "But of course, I expect House Arryn and Stark to come in Clutch. Baratheon is who I expect to be fickle.", she said.

"As Did House Hightower...if I remember", Corlys countered. "As did you, Lord Corlys.", Vaemrys said. Corlys looked back to see the row of Sons. Diserys stood with his head held high. Aegar had trained them to become more Serious within these times.
