Johnnys POV:
Ponyboy slapped the soc hovering over us. I stared at him with wide eyes. why would he do that, is he trying to get up killed? My mind jumbled together, when I snapped back to reality I was practically getting dragged by Ponyboy.
"Golly Johnny, can you run any faster" Pony yelled, quickly running down hall. 'Well if ya' didn't hit em' we wouldn't havta (have to) be runnin' !' I yelled back, he just Let out a laugh as we watched the soc's run past the hall we just ran into.
"They're gonna figure we turned any minute now, c'mon Johnnycakes, pick up the pace!" I sighed using all my energy to catch up with pony, and hell was he right, I heard the soc's stupid fancy shoes far behind us, but still hearable. He pulled me into the janitors closet. I could hear his heartbeat and his shaggy breathin' on my forehead. He pulled me closer, if even possible. We sat there quietly waiting for the soc's to pass. Once they did, Johnny felt pony whisper into his ear ;
"I don't like your new shampoo."
