"Cheers to the new start of Lana Luella."

I raised a glass of whiskey in the air, tapping my reflection lightly in the mirror.

The Chauffeur, Todd, had dropped me off at a luxury resort on Figure 8 a couple of hours ago.

I had been to the Outerbanks a few times over the course of my 21 years, so I relatively knew the area. Not as well as the locals of course, but enough to where I wouldn't get too lost. It was one of the reasons why I chose the rehab facility here, out of all the others in the country that I could've chosen. It was all part of my little master plan.

Now I had 12 whole months to become the person I had always wanted to be. A better person, with no family and no friends. No one to hold me back. No shadow and family name lingering over me. Just a completely fresh start.

And the first step of a fresh start?

I wanted to buy my own house...

And my own car. But for now I guess I would just rent one and then step two would be buying a car.

The hotel room phone rang, snapping me out of my thoughts. "Well speak of the devil and he shall appear." I laughed to myself. I made my way from the mirror to the phone.

"Hello?"

"Hi, is this Miss. Lana Luella?" A female voice asked through the phone.

"Yes, this is she."

"Hi there Miss. Luella. I'm Rose Cameron calling from Cameron Development. A man stopped by my office today and gave me your number. Are you still in the market for a house?"

I smiled, taking a small sip of my Whiskey.

The start of my first step.

Thank you, Todd.
