September 8
In the morning, after waking up next to Gerald's peaceful body, I prepared for another stupid yet amazing school day. I took a shower, ate some breakfast, gathered my textbooks and walked out. Gerald, all dolled up, was right beside me. We walked peacefully right up to the point when we bumped upon Thomas.
His crooked steps told us he was drunk. I didn't like anybody who got drunk and that's why I had made sure Gerald never got crazy. On the other hand, watching Thomas get drunk was natural. He always went berserk like this. As we continued to get closer to one another Thomas spoke out.
"Yo Skyla, can I talk to you for a moment?" He nearly tripped over himself. I stared at him before I looked over to see Gerald with a worried expression. I think he was planning to punch his lights out, but I stopped him.
"I'll be alright. Go to school and I'll catch up to you." He looked at me for a sec and then nodded. He kissed me softly then walked away. I didn't know for sure if I was going to be alright, but at least Gerald knew that I had lied for him. I turned to look at Thomas.
"What do you want?" I scowled at Thomas. He stepped closer to me and I backed up.
"Skyla I just wanted to say that...I love.." At that moment he passed out and fell to the ground. I wasn't worried about him though, I was worried about what he said. He loves what!? Oh now I'll never know! For all there is, he could be saying he loves pie!
Frustrated, I started to regain my posture and started walking again. I had decided to leave him there, sprawled on the ground, but something cause me to stop. I headed back and chose to call Mariana. As I heard the ringing I almost hung up, but I gathered my confidence.
"Hello?" I took a deep breath and answered. "Uh hi Mariana, I was just calling because your boyfriend is passed out on my lawn. Think you could come?" I had to ask her quickly because I wanted to be over with this. She takes a while before answering.
"M-my boyfriend?...Oh! you mean Thomas. He's um he's not my boyfriend. We broke up." I could hear how depressed she was so I didn't ask for further details. Instead I felt a giddiness inside me. I tried to shut it out before Mariana noticed I was happy about the news. I tried my best, but in the end it was no success.
"Oh okay! Well can you at least pick him up. I think he'd appreciate it." I still said everything in a rush. By now I was ten minutes late to class. Mariana on the other hand must've had all the time in the world because she slowly said goodbye. I think she was trying to piss me off again. It was kinda my fault for being happy. Stupid me.
"Yeah, you're right...well, toodles." I didn't wait to say bye, I just hung up. I started running to school as quickly as I could. My heart was racing and so we're my thoughts.
Thomas and Mariana weren't dating anymore? Who dumped who? Why? How did I feel about this?
More and more questions raced around in my head. I tried to ignore them, but they wouldn't go away.
In the cafeteria. Them. The goo goo goo eyes. Smiles on their faces. No. That's over now. They're over. Nothing left of that couple. Strange...very strange.

When I finally arrived to my class I was 24 minutes late.
"Take a seat Miss Day. It's about time you arrive." I passed Ms. Anderson and quickly headed to take my seat. I hated that I had trigonometry in the morning. The teacher was a very strict person. I decided to try and calm her with a saying from her favorite man; Obert Skye.
"I'm sorry Miss, it's just you know what they say 'desperate times call for desperate measures." It seemed to do the trick because the foul behemoth backed off.
"Very true Miss Day. Just try and avoid it next time." I nodded and she headed back to her desk. I quickly walked down my aisle and passed Gerald on my left.
"What happened?" I shaked my head as I got a stare from the teacher.
"Later." I whispered softly to him and took my seat. I waited for the class to be over, for my life to end, but sadly it didn't happen.
