September 9
The sound of my alarm clock woke me up to a brand new day. Today was Saturday. No school. I needed to go to work though. I had missed it yesterday after the incident that happened. Work for me didn't start till 8 and it was barely 6.
I slowly sat up, stretched out the kinks in my arms, and slipped out of the blankets. I gasped then blushed when I looked at myself. I was completely naked.
I looked to where Gerald still slept and frowned when I saw the rest of my clothes beside him.
GERALD!!!!
I rolled my eyes and quickly got dressed. Mariana was gone, so I checked on Thomas.
As I stepped inside the room, I saw Thomas awake and staring at the ceiling.
"Thomas?" I didn't talk too loud as I walked toward the bed. He didn't turn his head to look at me.
"Skyla..." My name crawled slowly out of his mouth. This time he looked at me and tried sitting up, but the pain in his chest stopped him. He looked down at the bandages and carefully poked at the wound. I winced as a little bit of blood continued to soak through.
"Wha-what happened?" I looked at him suspiciously, but let it go. He must've been to drunk and forgot.
"Well, you kinda got in a fight with Gerald for trying to protect Mariana and he cut you....badly." He blinked his eyes trying to remember.
"Protecting Mariana? What are you talking about. I don't like her." I was glad he went back to looking at the ceiling. A blush had started creeping on my face and I didn't want him knowing about it.
Just when I began to speak, my phone rang.
"Hello? Skyla here." I smiled as my friend Victoria said 'hi'.
"Are you busy or can I talk to you?" I looked at Thomas and then answered.
"It's okay. I'm not really loaded with work."
"Oh okay. Well you gotta check this video out. You remember the fight last night? Well someone recorded it and I think you should take a look at it." I could hear her voice full of excitement, but I didn't have a clue as to why.
"Ok well thanks for notifying me." She said bye and I hung up.
I searched up the video and watched it. It showed the exact same thing that happened last night, but then I saw Mariana. She was getting punched by Gerald so she had pushed Thomas and hid behind him. I just stood stiffly and tried calming myself.
So Mariana was at fault here. I knew she was trouble. Ugh!
"Skyla?" I shook my head and turned to see Thomas who was worried.
"Oh sorry just...dozed off for a minute there." I took a seat on the chair behind me and ran my fingers through my hair. Thomas moved a bit on the bed. He was feeling uncomfortable and I didn't know why.
"Um...Skyla," he hesitated then continued, "Do you still...love me?" Ok that's it. Now I think he is really sick. I grabbed a thermometer from off the table and stuck in his mouth. He just spit it out.
"I'm really fine. Don't worry." I still reached over and felt his forehead. He was a bit warm. I thought about it before I let him continue.
"So, do you?" I sighed and nodded. I couldn't keep my feelings in check. I was an emotional mess. As I softly sobbe, he grabbed my hands and stood. His chest must've hurt badly, but he ignored the pain. He kissed me and I inwardly groaned.
Why did he have to be so sweet? Can't he see it is killing me?!?
I wanted to pull away, but my instincts took over. I slipped my fingers in his hair and pulled him closer. He wrapped his arms around my waist. For a while we stayed like that until we both pulled away and gasped for air. Thomas put his forehead against mine and my heart sputtered.
