Chapter 70: Galar League - Dark Badge

Hellew everyone! I bring to you the 70th chapter of my story for you all to enjoy! 70 chapters, wow! That's so crazy! However this story ain't over yet, still a little ways off. This chapter is one I was greatly anticipating to write, so if you feel the same about reading it then enjoy it now!

As the group traversed onward towards their next destination, they were making small talk.

"Wonder what the next gym will be like" Serena said.

"The next gym will be a dark type gym, meaning it's best that you should use Bug, Fighting or Fairy types-roto" Rotom said.

"Maybe you should go with Lilligant or Pancham, I bet they're itching for a fight" Ash suggested.

"Maybe. Although..." Serena said as she held out a ball.

Everyone knew who's ball it was.

"I'm getting really worried about her. She hasn't said a word to any of us, plus she's always been eating by herself" Serena said.

"Maybe she knows what actually happened to her" Greninja said.

"That does make the most sense. She could be avoiding us out of shame" Delphox said.

"Or resentment" Pikachu said.

"Why do you think that buddy?" Ash asked.

"Well, we lied to her right? It must have hurt her to be lied to like that" Pikachu explained.

"She must've felt betrayed by us..." Sylveon said with sadness.

Serena kept staring at her ball, her own sadness and guilt plastered on her face.

'Gardevoir...'

Inside her ball, Gardevoir was floating in a black space. Her eyes were closed, and she had a look like she was meditating. A silhouette started to fly around her.

"If you think meditation will quell me, then you're more of a fool than I thought" a demonic voice mocked.

"What do you want" Gardevoir said flatly, not even opening her eyes.

"Just to remind you that you can't escape from me" it replied.

"If that's all you wanted to do, then duly noted. Now get lost" Gardevoir said.

"Well well well, looks like someone is done with the waterworks. Have you finished your little crybaby antics now?"

"Shut up. I'm trying to meditate here" Gardevoir said.

"Ha! Like that will solve any of your problems! Face it princess, the only way you'll ever get stronger is by letting me take over when you Mega Evolve. I promise to be gentle while I rip every opponent limb from limb" it said.

Gardevoir opened her eyes and stared at the silhouette with a scowl.

"I will never let you have your way! I will conquer you, and then I'll be strong enough to beat anyone who goes after Serena and all the others I hold dear!" Gardevoir declared.

The silhouette simply growled. "Careful what you say brat, I just might make you regret ever saying those words."

The silhouette disappeared after that. Gardevoir closed her eyes again. 'I won't let you control me you bastard...!'

After a little bit of staring, Serena put the ball back in her bag. After a little bit more of continued walking, the group reached a large body of water with multiple pieces of ice and Pokémon swimming around.
