"All you have to do is plug it into the equation!"
"But that's exactly what I don't get," Kirishima yelled back. "How do you plug it into the equation?"
"Are you really that dense Shitty Hair? We've been at this for an hour. How can you still not get it?"
"Because all you've done for an hour is scream the exact same thing at me." Kirishima crossed his arms. "If that explained what I needed to know I would've gotten it the first time."
"Just- urgh." Bakugo grabbed the homework and started at the problem trying to come up with a better way to explain it. The problem was, he looked at the equation and automatically knew how to get the answer. He never put words on the process to get there. And he definitely didn't know how to explain to Kirishima what was so obvious to him. "Break it down. You have to get x by itself so do the opposite of things to move them to the other side of the equation. Then you'll have the value for x and you can find what y is."
Kirishima stared at him. He bit his lip with those stupid shark teeth. The red head stole the paper back from him. "I think I know what you're saying. Let me try."
Bakugou stared at the red head as he leaned over the paper. Kirishima's hair was down, for once, and the red strands fell into his eyes. Bakugou had the sudden urge to brush it away. He clenched his fist almost afraid they would move on their own and act on the desire.
Instead he focused on Kirishima's eyes. They were narrowed and glaring at the homework in determination. Bakugou had heard their friends joke that his and Kirishima's eyes matched. They were all complete idiots.
Bakugou's eyes burned like the hottest part of an explosion, daring you to get closer. Kirishima's eyes were different. They were the bright light of a lighthouse in a storm, the steady blaze of a campfire surrounded by friends, the warm glow of a hearth welcoming you home.
Kirishima sat up suddenly so their faces were inches apart. He caught Bakugou's guilty expression and grinned. "Were you staring, Bakugou? Like what you see?"
Bakugou's face flushed. "Tch. All I see is a dumbass. You finished with that homework yet, Shitty Hair?"
Kirishima held up the paper with a proud grin on his face. "Check it."
Bakugou scanned the homework. Everything was right. Kirishima really was getting better at math. Another tutor would've complimented him. Bakugou just threw down the paper and crossed his arms. "Tch. Took you long enough." But he did smile.
"Yes!" Kirishima pumped his fist in the air. He leaned back in his chair and put his hands behind his head. "Thanks bro I thought I was never going to get it."
"You'd get there eventually. You're smarter than you give yourself credit for, just shows how much of a dumbass you are."
Kirishima's head snapped towards him. "You really mean it?"
Bakugou's face turned red. He hadn't mean it to sound so much like a compliment. Still he couldn't take it back now. "Tch," he mumbled so quietly he wasn't positive that Kirishima could understand him. "I don't say shit I don't mean."
"No, you don't." Kirishima was staring at him now with a half smile half smirk. Bakugou wasn't sure what it meant, but he liked it. He wondered what it would be like to kiss Kirishima when he was smirking like that, before he banished the thought from his head.
Kirishima leaned in closer to him. "So you'd tell me if anything I did made you at all uncomfortable."
The words got caught in his throat. It wasn't often that Bakugou was rendered speechless, but he wasn't sure what Kirishima wanted him to say.
"And if you thought it was unmanly or didn't want it you'd push me away," Kirishima continued. "Right, bro?"
What the hell was he talking about? Bakugou spent his life pushing people away. Kirishima was just one of the few people stubborn enough not to leave. So why would that change anytime soon? Bakugou didn't come up with an answer before Kirishima closed the distance between them and kissed him.
The kiss was careful, gentle, and light, in a way that was at odds with the hard, strong, rowdy boy across from him. Kirishima pulled away quickly. His skin was hardened, prepared for Bakugou's blast of retaliation. Instead Bakugou grabbed his collar and pulled him back in.
He hadn't realized how long he wanted to kiss Kirishima until the other boy's chapped lips were on his, but now that they were Bakugou didn't think he would ever let him come up for air. Kirishima's hands plunged into his spiky hair. His sharp teeth nipped at his lip hard enough to draw blood. Bakugou's tongue slipped into his mouth. He wanted to taste every part of him. His fingers traced along the hard muscles of Kirishima's back.
It felt like an eternity later, when they finally pulled apart. Kirishima was staring at him with wide eyes and a stupidly blissful smile on his face. "Bro, that was-"
"Bro?" Bakugou snapped. "We just fucking made out you're not allowed to call me bro."
At the mention of their kiss Kirishima grinned wider. "What about babe? Or even better Bakubabe?"
Bakugou's cheeks burned. "Say that again and I'll kill you."
Kirishima pouted, but it was all for show. His eyes glowed with joy. "Then what am I supposed to call you? Sweetheart? Honey?" He leaned in close to Bakugou's ear. "Daddy?"
Bakugou's face burned even redder. He shoved Kirishima away and turned back to the homework at his desk. "Call me by my fucking name," he hesitated then added, "Call me Katsuki."
Kirishima froze. "Wait really?"
"Duh," Bakugou said, before he could second guess himself, he added. "I'm not going to let my fucking boyfriend call me by my last name."
"Boyfriend?" Kirishima stuttered. For a moment Bakugou was afraid he'd read the whole situation wrong. Maybe Kirishima didn't want to date him. Maybe Kirishima would be ashamed walking the halls with the boy who had to be chained up after the sports festival. Maybe-
"That's such a manly way to ask dude! I can't believe I get to call you my boyfriend now." Kirishima grinned. "That means you can call me Eijirou!"
"I'll call you whatever the fuck I want," he paused. "Eijirou."
Bakugou didn't know how Kirishima's smile could stretch any wider, but it did and Bakugou's heart tugged at that smile. His boyfriend's smile.
