Kirishima had just collapsed in bed when his phone buzzed with a text message. He considered not picking it up. It was probably just Kaminari or Sero telling him he'd left something down in the common room. It had been hard enough to drag himself away from the squad's video game tournament the first time, if he went back down stairs there was no way he was going to get it bed early enough to not be exhausted for training tomorrow.

His phone buzzed again and Kirishima picked it up. He'd just tell the guys he'd get whatever it was he left tomorrow morning, that way they'd stop tempting him. Instead he stared at a message from his boyfriend.

Blasty: You awake?

Bakugou never texted him first unless he was trying to get Kirishima to hurry up. Plus it was nearing midnight, which meant Bakugou should've been asleep four hours ago.

Shitty Hair: Yeah
Shitty Hair: What's wrong bro

Bakugou's responses came almost immediately, which scared Kirishima more than the angry blond being up at this hour. Bakugou always waited at least five minutes before responding to a text. It was his way of reminding everyone that he didn't actually need anybody. For him not to care about that now meant something was bothering him that meant more to him than his pride.

Blasty: Couldn't sleep
Shitty Hair: On my way ;)

He threw a shirt on, one of Bakugou's skull shirts that just happened to be in his room, and headed next door. Bakugou's room was locked as always, but Kirishima had long ago stolen his spare key and let himself in.

People who had never been in Bakugou's room expected it to be an All Might shrine like Midoryia's, an emo pit like Tokoyami's, or some sort twisted mix between the two. They would be disappointed. Bakugou's room was simple and bare, as if he was trying to keep it plain to avoid any personal attachments to people or the school. But Kirishima knew about the pictures of his friends Bakugou kept hidden on the back of his closet door.

Kirishima scanned the room for any signs of what might be wrong. His covers were rumpled, but nothing was out of place. Nothing except for the absent Bakugou.

His arm's hardened on instinct. Was this some sort of trap? That would explain the cryptic messages. The League of Villains could've snuck into the school and kidnapped Bakugou again. Kirishima's jaw clenched. He wasn't going down without a fight, not this time.

"Bakugou?" He called. Maybe he could get the villains to reveal their location. There was no use in stealth, any attackers would already know he was there.

"I'm out here Shitty Hair."

The door to Bakugou's balcony was cracked open. His boyfriend was sitting cross legged on the concrete glaring at the stars.

Kirishima unhardened his arms, slightly embarrassed. Maybe it was stupid that his first reaction to Bakugou acting strange was assume the League of Villains was involved, but ever since Kamino he'd been paranoid about another kidnapping. He felt protective of Bakugou. Bakugou would kick his ass if he ever heard Kirishima say something like that, but it was true. He knew Bakugou was strong, he knew he could handle just about anything the villains threw at him, but All Might was strong too and look what happened to him.

Kirishima grabbed the comforter off Bakugou's bed and threw it over the blond's shoulder's before sitting down next to him on the balcony. It wasn't that cold outside, but Bakugou was only happy when he was burning up and sweating buckets. Anything else made him vulnerable and weak.

The moment Kirishima settled into his spot, Bakugou laid his head on his should and grabbed his hand. Internally Kirishima grinned. Bakugou normally wasn't one for much physical contact and never initiated it. Kirishima knew that going in and wasn't bothered by it, but it did make him treasure anytime Bakugou did reach out and want physical touch.

"You going to tell me what's wrong?" Kirishima hummed.

Bakugou shook his head and nuzzled more into Kirishima's shoulder. Kirishima didn't push. Bakugou would tell him when he was ready, or never, and that was ok. They both had to work through their issues in their own ways. All Kirishima could do was be there and offer any support Bakugou would accept.

"You want to explode something?" Kirishima asked. "You know I can take it."

Sometimes it helped Bakugou to fire off his explosions against Kirishima's hardened hand, but the blond shook his head.

"What do you want me to do?"

"I don't fucking know," Bakugou sounded tired. "Just- just talk."

Kirishima rubbed his thumb against Bakugou's hand. "About what?'

"I dunno. I just want to hear your shitty voice."

Kirishima snorted and looked around for something to talk about. His eyes landed on the night sky. "You know, I've always loved looking up at space," he murmured. "Especially the moon. I think out of all the celestial bodies it's the one I relate to the most."

"Tch."

"It's true," Kirishima insisted. "Think about it. The moon's really just a big rock floating through space. It's not really anything special. It goes through changes but at it's core it's always the same, and it reflect the light of the sun."

Bakugou sat up straight and looked at him. "Huh?"

"You know, cause you're the sun." Kirishima started talking faster. "How could you not be? You've got spiky yellow hair that looks like sun rays and you're hot." He was glad it was dark outside so Bakugou couldn't see him blushing. "My world revolves around you. You're the biggest best thing in the solar system. Almost to bright too look at and you'll burn anyone if they get to close, which is why I'm here," he finished. "So I can reflect your blinding glory in as many ways as possible."

"Kirishima that is the stupidest fucking thing I have ever heard you say and I'm the one who checks your homework assignments."

"Hey it's a good analogy," he defended. "Kaminari's Mercury, cause he's always getting to close to you, Mina is Venus, for obvious reasons, and Sero is-"

"I don't care about your fucking analogy," Bakugou cut him off. "I care that my boyfriend, who is literally sunshine incarnate, thinks he's just around to reflect my fucking light or whatever when he is the brightest fucking thing that ever happened in my fucking life!"

Kirishima stared at him blankly. "Bakugou-"

But Bakugou wasn't finished, he was screaming now. "You want to know why I couldn't fucking sleep? Because I was too busy thinking about what the fuck I was going to do when you come to your fucking senses and realize you deserve someone so much better than I will ever fucking be. And if I was half the hero I'm fucking trying to be I would let you go before you get hurt but I'm too fucking selfish to even consider that. You're not the fucking moon Kirishima! You're all the stars in the damn sky shining with their own glorious light making the fucking darkness a bearable place!"

"You really think that?"

"Tch. Of course I do."

Kirishima scooted closer to him and nuzzled his face into the crook of Bakugou's neck. There may have been a few manly tears in his eyes, but Kirishima didn't feel like trying to stop them. "I love you Katsuki Bakugou."

Kirishima's admission was met with silence, but Bakugou didn't need to say anything. He would repeat the words when he was ready, but in his own way Bakugou had already said he loved him.
