While he may not have gotten the chance to kiss Nora the night before, Auston decided what he did get was far better. She agreed to come to his game—even seemed excited to see him, too.

Auston threw open the heavy metal door just as Nora was scurrying up the stairs. Pouring might have been an understatement: Auston wasn't sure he had ever seen it rain so hard. It didn't help that the November air was frigid and the sun already halfway gone.
With a sigh, Nora stepped past him into the warmth of the arena, her hair matted down from the sprint to the door. "Gosh," she whispered, wiping the raindrops from her face. "That was miserable."
Auston smiled and leaned down to place a kiss on her cheek. He could tell it caught Nora a little off-guard from the way she faltered at his touch, but after a moment, she recovered and blinked up at him expectantly. He held out the jersey he'd brought for her and announced, "Here."
Gingerly, she took it from his hands. "For me?" she asked, hesitant.
He nodded as she unfolded it, and then watched as she turned it around to take in the back. Immediately, she dropped her hands to glare at him, cheeks flushed. "What is it?" Auston goaded, though he already knew what she was thinking.
"What the hell is this?" she exclaimed in exasperation.
Auston loved the little flare in her voice whenever she was annoyed by him—the tinge of color on her face. "I told you I would get you a jersey to wear," he replied, still grinning. "Is there something wrong with it?"
As if he hadn't been the one to bring it, Nora spun the jersey around so that the name on the back was facing Auston. "Nylander?" she snapped. "Really?"
Auston shrugged and prodded her shoulder playfully. "I thought he was your favorite player."
"Oh my god," Nora groaned. "You're ridiculous."
As she rolled her eyes, Auston took two meaningful steps forward, backing her against the wall, where he brought a hand down on her hip. "What?" he urged, ducking down to meet her gaze.
Nora's lips parted ever so slightly, eyes glassy as she appeared to process his proximity to her. After a moment, she found her voice and mumbled, "You're just annoying."
He inched a little closer to her, almost close enough that her chest was against his. "If you want a different jersey," he began with a smirk, "all you have to do it ask."
Fuck. Auston could smell the sweetness of her perfume and feel the warmth emanating from her body. He didn't think he would fold so early in the evening, but his eyes fell down onto her lips, and the only thing he could think about is kissing her.
Finally, Nora grinned back at him. "Actually, this jersey is perfect," she concluded. "Thank you."
The joke was his to begin with, but the tiniest hint of jealousy crept into his chest. He brought both of his palms against the wall, caging Nora in with his arms. She didn't falter this time, instead leveled him with a smug glare of content. She knew exactly what she was doing to him.
Auston sucked a breath through his teeth and sighed, "Very funny."
She crossed her arms over her chest and crinkled her nose. "Hey, you're the one who gave me the jersey," she reminded him.
Unable to keep his hands from her, Auston removed one arm from the wall to thumb her bottom lip gently. "I'm this close to giving you a hundred of my jerseys, just so I can see you wearing one every fucking day."
"And why would I wear your jersey?" Nora countered, her eyes aglow.
"So then," he responded, "when you come to my games, everyone will know who you're here for." His hand slipped behind her neck, angling her face up a little so that she was even closer to his lips.
Nora rose up on her toes to reach him, and Auston came down on her mouth greedily. The kiss was desperate and hungry, Nora's fingers clinging to Auston's shirt as she pulled their bodies together. Within seconds, Auston's dick had tented his sweatpants, pressed against Nora's stomach. He tightened his grip on her neck ever so slightly, testing the waters, and the little moan that escaped Nora's throat was all the affirmation he needed.
Auston was just about ready to tear off Nora's clothes and fuck her into next year right against this wall, but instead he pulled back. He wanted to have sex with Nora—there was no question about it—but he wanted it to be more meaningful than this. He wanted to take care of her, show her that he wasn't all arrogance and celebrity, which meant he would have to wait a while longer.
Nora's eyes, though, were still frozen on his lips, so he bent down to kiss her softly one more time. "I'm gonna go grab a real jersey for you," he whispered.
She giggled, sliding her hand over his cheek before she met his gaze. "Okay," she breathed. "Just as long as it's yours this time."
