Jon seemed to avoid you. Your men made themselves useful quickly. Bran and Sansa had greeted you with the appropriate and polite greeting but had then left with no explanation. You'd once been a guest in the halls of Winterfell.
Seeing Jon walking across the open space of the battlements outside you hurried towards him. His back was to you so he didn't see you until you had caught up with him.
"Jon?" You called. He stopped and seemed to stiffen as he turned to you.
"Lady (Y/N)." He answered formally. You frowned and shifted your feet over the frozen ground, feeling awkward.
"Is there something the matter? Besides everything that has happened?" You asked carefully. He scoffed and shook his head, making you frown. "What happened to make me a stranger to you?"
"You! That's what happened. You." Jon snapped. Several people around the two of you glanced your way but hurried to look as if they weren't listening.
"Me?" You asked in surprise.
"The battles I have gone through for you. The times I have given up with nothing else to think of but you... This... You sided with one of our enemies and expected us not to doubt you." Jon answered.
"I had no choice. I had to stop my people from dying and you would do the same." You answered sharply. He nodded and looked away from you as if he knew that.
"It does not make it any less painful." That was all he said before he stormed away leaving you to watch him leave.
