TW: there is a mention of dr u gg1ng at the end of this chapter.
This had to be a joke.
A stupid, stupid joke.
The others had left an hour ago, we told them we would meet them at the compound, but Knife had other ideas. I could still feel him dripping down my thighs as we stood in front of his favourite a car, a red sports car whose engine made the nicest noise and who Knife once stabbed a man for scratching the front.
Now, on the front of his favourite car, was the exact same symbol that was painted outside of the compound. A bleeding strawberry with a knife protruding from its chest and a roaring lion dripping blood.
Knife merely looked at the symbol, walked over to the passenger side of the car and opened the door for me.
I stayed put where I was and stared at him as if he had grown another head. He literally stabbed a man to death for ruining the paint job in a small little area but this he's chill about?
"Haven't got all day, Sugar." He says nonchalantly and quirks a brow at me, waiting for me to get into the car. I'm still confused when my feet finally move me towards the car and into the passenger seat.
Knife leans down to peck my forehead and then slams the door closed to hop over to his side. His fingers trail over the indent in the car absently before he opens his own door and situates himself behind the wheel.
"Not that I'm complaining, because I'm not, but what the fuck?" I shake my head and look out the window, trying and failing to see if someone is out there recording this and I'm being pranked. "You flip out whenever something small happens to the car but someone scratches that onto it and you're as chill as a cucumber."
He flashes me a smirk.
"Do you want me to go on a rampage and bring you along for the ride, baby?"
My mouth drops open at his words and I splutter for a moment before pulling myself together and glaring at him.
I refrain from saying anything else and instead choose to watch the scenery pass by us as I mull over his reaction. While I don't know how Knife is going to react to most situations, I just know it's never going to be good, this has thrown me for a loop. Realistically I know he's probably scheming up a plan to get back at the people but it's his initial reaction that's getting to me.
He didn't seem surprised to see it there, in fact, it was like he was expecting it. He knew there would be blowout after murdering an entire club but to have something so bold happen so soon after is highly unusual. Maybe if this happened a few weeks from now, I wouldn't have been so surprised but the day after? Nuh-uh.
Knife was expecting it, he knew someone would send a sign that they were onto him but how did he know they would get so close? How did they even get into the carpark? The security system to get into the car park alone was almost as intense as getting into the building.
A horrifying thought entered my mind.
Did the person live in the building?
It would explain how they were able to get into the car park to vandalise his car. They might have known someone in the club, saw Knife all angry and murdery and connected the dots.
I peaked over at Knife, a million questions on the tip of my tongue, but he was concentrating on driving, the ever present blank look on his face.
I shut my mouth and told myself I would ask him all about it when we were back in the apartment and alone and he wasn't driving through streets where someone was out there and looking to harm him, and maybe also me.
