DOLL

Unfortunately, I can't use my car because my mother took it... and probably sold it to someone.

If she's going to sell it, she must sell it for triple the price! Heige is very...!

"Argh!"

"What? You wanna throw another tantrum?" Illumi turned his head to look in my direction.

"Shut up. I am not a kid!" I rolled my eyes and followed him.

We're headed to the garage where his car is parked. Even if I don't want to, unless I want to walk so far and get myself tired, I'd have to ride in Illumi's car.

He was already inside when I hopped in the shotgun seat!

"You didn't even open the door for me. Such a gentlemen giant you are," I remarked.

"You have your hands," he simply replied, starting the engine. "Also, didn't I tell you that things would then start changing the moment that you have my surname?" he asks, glancing over at me.

"Whatever. Just drive, puppeteer," I said as I adjusted myself into a comfortable position.

When he started driving out of the mansion, I played a playlist on my phone and watched the road silently... but the other version of me was already dancing to every beat that I hear in my head.

----------------------

Illumi swiftly parked his car at the parking lot of the mall when we arrived. Then, we went straight up to the department store to look for what we were supposed to look for.

I don't even know what 'errands' was he talking about earlier when he said we need to get those things done today. I'm just like a lost puppy following him since I don't have any idea where we are right now.

Once I memorize the blueprint of this mall, I'd walk him like a dog.

I grinned at the thought of Illumi, simply following me around while I go and get my stuff.

"Let's eat breakfast first," he says, still leading our way.

We were walking around the mall when an idea popped up in my mind.

Hmm, he should have no patience, right?

I snaked my arms into his bicep as I clutched to him tightly, asking in a high-pitched voice, "Shouldn't we use this day to get to know each other? Since we're going to be so pretentious about being engaged, we need to put on a show for the public. Also, the news could reach my mother and maybe, just maybe, she'll give me back my baby."

"You really think your mother would return Heige so easily?" he spats.

"Whatever. Anyway, let me tell you about my past experiences while I was working at the hospital..." I trailed off, watching his reaction as I kept blabbering nonsense.

He already found a restaurant for us to eat breakfast and he said that I could keep talking while he orders for us, and that was what I did.

Who am I to decline his offer, right? Right.

"Let's get back to what you were saying," he whispers as we sat in our seats. This time, he acted like a gentle and loving fiance that pulled my seat and motioned me to make myself comfortable as he sat on his own.

And of course, I had to put on an act too.

"Alright, where was I? Oh, yes, yes... So we had this patient, and he was a criminal. I won't explain further about the operation that we performed to help with his recovery, but this is when things started getting tricky. Even I don't know how it happened or what in the hell really occurred on that day..." I went on. "To make the story short, our superior attendant at that time already declared the man dead as the apparatus displayed a flat line on its screen, indicating that there's no more sign of life."
