ILLUMI
I watched as she was trying to act nonchalant when her parents left, bringing her car, Heige, along with them.
I know she's only pretending because if there's one single thing that she'd love and devote with all of her life, it would be her Bugatti.
She even referred to it as her pride and joy.
Her 'baby'.
On my way home, I'd already read the files that Dad has sent me. It was some basic surface details that I need to know about the girl they want me to marry.
Name: Dra. Himari Yume
Occupation: Physician
Workplace: Himari Hospital
Age: 24
Height: 175cm
Weight: 58kg
Nen Type: Manipulator
Nen Ability: Origami and Flower PetalsInstead of using plain paper, she uses her higanbana petals for offense and origami to create something for her defense. It's a push and pull nen ability. She can manipulate the size, shape, and strength of her petals, just like she did earlier when she attempted to kill me.
It was a lousy attempt, but full of potential. Had I not been paying attention to her movements, that petal could've drawn out blood from my neck.
"I'll get my car back. That's for sure," I heard her mutter under her breath, her teeth gritting against each other.
"Yeah, good luck with that. You should've thought of Heige first," I spat.
"Don't talk as if you know everything about me, Illumi," she threatened, wanting to demonstrate authority as my name rolled through her tongue naturally.
"That's my job though. To know everything about you."
"Job, job, job! Fuck your job!"
I calmly put my spoon and fork down as I turned to face her. Massaging the nose of my bridge, I asked her, "Are you seriously throwing a tantrum right now, doll?"
"JUST SHUT UP!" she yelled.
I sighed.
"Well, I think I and my doll still have a lot to talk about. I'll excuse us, everyone," I stood up and bowed.
"Illumi," Father warned, shooting me a glare. "She's not a toy. Even if this is a fixed marriage, you should treat her like how you-"
"Relax, Dad. She likes it the most when I call her my doll. Don't worry," I smiled.
"Let them have their private time and space, Silva," Mother said, raising her fan as she stood up from her seat.
"Thank you for the food," I and Yume replied in unison.
At first, I brought her next to me and forced her head to bow, but she shrugged my arm off and bowed herself so I didn't mind.
I snaked my arm around her waist and when I felt her hint of resistance, I pulled out a pin and discreetly pointed it near her hip line.
"Want me to carve my name to cover up your tattoo in here, doll? Stop making things worse and behave," I ordered.
She stilled, even when I pulled her closer to me so we could show everyone that we were on good terms after she attempted to kill me in front of our families.
When I read more details about her, I found out that getting tattooed is one of her favorite methods to relieve stress, and she has a lot of tattoos on her body. Some are hidden under her clothes, and some are not. In any way, there's no need to rush since I'll be taking my time exploring each of her tattoo one by one.
When we reached my room, I pushed her in and locked the door behind me.
"I am not going to sleep in the same room as you, asshole. You take lives! I save them," she gritted her teeth in anger.
I grinned.
"Is that what you mean when you aimed your little petal at my neck, intending to kill?" I threw.
But I'm not yet done.
"You killed a patient, even though he wasn't directly ordered to be under your care..." I took steps toward her, making her freeze in her position as I casually talk about what she did to get herself in this kind of situation. "... and you know what? This isn't the very first time that you've killed a patient, my doll. This was just the first time you got caught,"
Her eyes widened, pupils dilating.
She's panicking.
Of course, she would. She tried to bury those memories from her mind, and here I am, reminding her of her true nature to not just save lives, but take them when she finds it convenient and necessary.
"You know nothing," her slim hands rolled up into a fist.
"Hmm, that's where you're wrong..." I trailed off, taking such slow steps around her as a mischievous chuckle slipped through my lips. "For the record, you already have killed more than a hundred patients. Whether or not they were legally placed under your care. Sometimes, you had your justifications for taking their lives, but most of the time, it's just because you've been playing Judge and God... Thinking that it's okay to decide whether your patient should just die to end his suffering or not. Am I right or am I correct? You're being quite a hypocrite now."
"You're only contradicting your words. But deep inside, you know that I'm not wrong," I whispered into her ear.
I retrieved my needle aimed at her waist and made her face the mirror.
"My family is expecting an heiress, but I told them not to rush anything and let me just do my job..." I looked at her reflection.
She didn't have any comebacks. It is as if she's still processing the bombs that I had dropped earlier to remind her of everything she's done.
I tossed her silk navy blue loosened polo over her shoulder and that seemed to bring her back to her senses as I walked near my walk-in closet.
"I will-!"
"Hush now, doll. Let your head cool for a bit first and relax. Think things over while you're taking a shower," I cut her off, sliding the door of my bathroom behind my closet.
"I am not going to take a shower at the same time with you-"
"I didn't tell you to hop in the shower with me. I was about to be nice and tell you to just follow after I was done, but it seems to me that you wanna suggest we take a shower together... Is that what you want?" I asked her, cutting her off again which made her scowl and stomp her way toward me.
"I don't like it when I'm getting cut off too! Let me talk," she demands.
"Then lower your voice. I am not miles away from you, doll... There's no need for you to yell," I mandated back, not backing off as our eye contact raised the tension in the room.
She sighed, "Alright. I'll take a shower AFTER you are done. I have no clothes to wear at home since I only brought my go-to outfits, so once I am done, you must be out of sight even in your walk-in closet so I can change and look for the clothes I wanna wear in your wardrobe. Is that clear?"
To my surprise, she's calm... not like a wild and lost dog barking over everyone's tree anymore... or maybe she's just reminding herself to keep her calm and play her role, or else she won't get Heige back.
"Yes, ma'am. Take your time to scan my room as I bathe. Do whatever you want. Dance or something, you do you," I replied and went straight inside the bathroom.
