YUME

"Shouldn't you give me a welcome home kiss or something?" he asks again.

I stilled. Afraid that if I moved or even if I breathe, our lips would touch.

Illumi chuckles in amusement as he let me go of his hold.

"Come on, they're already looking for us at the dining table," says the man.

I took my polo that I tossed onto his bed and let it hang on my arm when he grabbed my shirt and hung it on his.

"What-"

"First, you come into my room unannounced---."

"I DID NOT KNOW IT WAS YOUR ROOM!" I hissed at him.

"Hush, doll. I didn't interrupt your dancing, so don't interrupt me when I'm still talking," he declared with authority. He then cleared his throat before speaking again, "I am actually doing you a favor. All of this was so sudden, but I still managed to do my homework about you even if I was busy. You could've done the same, you know... In that way, you would be aware of my skills and would've already known it was my room the moment you saw my pins on the table next to my door..." he went on and I was silent.

I'm nervous to make another mistake that might make him strike his pins and kill me right here, right now. I am in his territory and I will never feel safe around him.

"No matter if someone led you to my room or whatever," Illumi says as we walked back to their dining room.

Our parents were already seated, facing each other, and he was right. They were waiting for us to return, but they weren't waiting silently.

"How did you know-?"

"This place has CCTVs."

I heard my mom propose something about taking Heige away and that made me turn to face her.

"Mom!" I warned.

"You will just try to escape if you have your car, Yume. I know you. It's either you keep your license and lose the car, or keep the car and lose your license. Choose wisely, my dear," she smiles at me and I gasped in disgust and disbelief.

"Do not involve my license here!"

I think my veins are going to explode any second now!

My mother frowned, giving me a mocking look as she mischievously sneered. "Honey, this is happening because your license is and has always been involved. Have you forgotten? Or do I have to remind you?" she threatened.

And I know those were not just empty threats.

I took a deep breath and took a seat next to Killua.

"Someday, I'm going to beat your ass and we're going to be even," I muttered under my breath but he just laughed.

There's that smile again.

"Why? I was just helping you find a big mirror," he played innocent.

"Whatever."

A sound of a ringing bell echoed in the dining hall, which brought us to look at whoever rang the bell.

It was my mother, again.

"My apologies for my attitude earlier, everyone. But now, your eldest, Illumi, just told me some good news. It makes me feel like wanting to take back my words regarding my daughter's beloved car, but I am also well aware of how spoiled Yume is..." she announced like a host, still seated.

"You're a doctor, right?" Kikyo asked, eyeing my sleeve.

Only then that I realized I wasn't wearing my polo.
