The bass was thumping in the club as you and Stephen made your way through the crowd. You were both on an undercover mission to find a rogue sorcerer who had been causing trouble in the area. The club was one of his known hangouts, and you were hoping to catch him in the act.
As you made your way to the bar, the final beats of INXS' Need You Tonight began to fade away. Your head-bopping slowing down as it came to an end. So when the next song began to play and you recognised the intro, a smile tugged on your face.
As the guitars continued to strum, your urge to dance grew; so you turned to Stephen, hoping that he would dance with you. But, to your surprise, he had already taken your hand and pulled you along with him to the dance floor. You could feel his warm breath on your neck as he whispered, "Let's dance."
"Tonight I wanna give it all to you In the darkness
There's so much I wanna do"
As the first lyrics of the song flooded through the speakers, you slowly inched your bodies closer together; a wide smile now present on your face.
Stephen held you close as you swayed to the music. "You know, I was always a fan of KISS," he said with a smile.
You laughed, "I can't believe it! I thought you were more of a classical music type of guy."
He chuckled. "I have eclectic tastes, my dear. You should know that by now."
The music continued to play, and you felt your body move with the beat. You felt so alive, so free in that moment, with Stephen by your side. The feeling was intoxicating.
"'Cause girl, I was made for you
And girl, you were made for me"
As the bridge began to build, you couldn't help but feel a surge of emotion as you looked into Stephen's eyes. You weren't sure if it was just the strobe lighting messing with you, but Stephen's eyes looked extremely dilated.
Just as you were about to ask him if he was okay, the beat dropped, and the chorus began.
"I was made for lovin' you, baby
You were made for lovin' me"
And with those lyrics, you felt Stephen's lips on yours. It was unexpected, but it felt so right. You could feel the passion, the raw emotion that had been simmering between you two for so long.
You both pulled back; your breaths ragged and hearts racing. You sheepishly looked at the floor, not wanting to hear Stephen tell you that he kissed you because the suspect was looking in your direction.
You couldn't handle the rejection...you couldn't handle his rejection. And he couldn't reject you if you refused to acknowledge the best kiss of your life.
As the song continued, the lyrics kept echoing in your mind.

You wanted to see love in Stephen's eyes when he looked at you; you wanted to feel the magic of his love...he drove you wild. You had to tell Stephen how you felt, even if his rejection hurt you.
You pulled back from him, and looked deeply into his eyes.
"Stephen, I have to tell you something," you said, your voice barely above a whisper.
He looked at you quizzically, "What is it, Y/n?"
"I-I love you," you said, your heart beating wildly in your chest.
He was silent for a moment, his eyes searching yours. You couldn't tell what he was thinking.
Just as you were about to pull away from him completely, you pulled you closer and whispered in your ear.
"I was made for lovin' you baby,
You were made for lovin' me"
As the song eventually ended, Stephen pulled away, his eyes searching yours. You both knew that the mission still needed to be completed, but in that moment, nothing else mattered. You were both made for each other, and nothing could change that.
