Stephen had always been a brilliant surgeon, but he had always put his career above everything else. He had lost touch with many of his friends and colleagues, including you, an old friend from the hospital. You two had been close--almost inseparable--but life had gotten in the way and you lost contact.
But when the Blip happened and half of the world's population disappeared for five years, then mystically came back, Stephen found himself thinking about you often. He wondered how you were--how you had been affected by the Blip. He knew that he had to find you, to make sure that you were okay.
The first thing that he did was go straight to the hospital. He asked those he remembered about you, and was relieved to learn that you were still working there. He couldn't wait to see you again.
When he finally found you, though, he was shocked at how much you had changed. You were still the beautiful woman that he remembered, but there was a tinge of sadness in your eyes that he had never seen before.
Psyching himself up, he began creeping up towards you and he cleared his throat.
"Hey," he said, his voice filled with warmth. "It's been... uh, a long time."
You looked up at him, and your face lit up with a smile. "Stephen," you said, your voice filled with happiness. "I can't believe it's you."
The two of you hugged tightly, and you couldn't help but feel like a weight had been lifted off your shoulders. You had missed Stephen more than you realised, and it felt good to be reunited with an old friend.
As the two of you caught up, you found that you had a lot in common. You both had lost people during the Blip, and you both felt a sense of guilt for having been spared.
"I'm so sorry," Stephen said, his voice filled with remorse. "I should have been there for you. I shouldn't have left."
"It's okay," you replied, your voice filled with warmth. "I'm just glad that you're here now."
As the days went by, the two of you started to spend more time together. And as they went, you found yourself falling deeper for Stephen. You couldn't help but wonder if he felt the same way.
One day, while you were both hanging out at Central Park, Stephen took your hand in his and looked into your eyes. "I know I've been a fool," he said, his voice filled with emotion. "But I want you to know that I've always loved you. I was just too scared to say it."
You felt your heart skip a beat, and you knew that you loved Stephen too. "I love you too," you said, smiling at him.
From that moment on, you and Stephen were inseparable. You spent all your free time together, and you couldn't believe how happy you were. You had never felt like this before, and you knew that Stephen was the one for you.
Stephen felt the same way, and he knew that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with you. He proposed to you on a beautiful sunset, and you said yes without hesitation.
Your wedding was a small, intimate ceremony with just a few close friends and family. Stephen looked so handsome in his tuxedo, and you couldn't believe that he was yours.
After the wedding, the two of you traveled around the world, fighting dark forces and saving lives. You were Stephen's apprentice, and you couldn't believe how far you had come. You had always wanted to work alongside Stephen, and now you were doing it.
Years went by, and you and Stephen had a family of your own. You were happy, and you knew that you had made the right choice. Stephen had changed, and he was no longer the arrogant, egotistical man he used to be. He was kind, loving and considerate and you couldn't be happier.
As you looked into Stephen's eyes, you knew that you were exactly where you were meant to be. You had found your true love, and nothing would ever come between you two again.
Life was good, and you were content. You knew that as long as you had Stephen by your side, you could face anything. And you knew that he felt the same way.
