"Isla!" He called out in warning but when I snapped back to focus my eyes shot wide and the Deviant had stabbed me in the back harshly. I winced in pain and let out a breath of cold air, freezing the tentacle and allowing Gilgamesh to break it off with ease while I collapsed to the ground weakly.
Gilgamesh jumped in again, covering me when the deviant came back. My icy eyes widened with horror as Gilgamesh was stabbed multiple times in the back. He screamed out in pain wile being lifted off the ground and drained of his great strength. He tried to punch back at the Deviant that hurt him but failed to do so. I quickly jumped into action, shooting multiple icicles at it but missing each and every time due to the uncontrollable shake of my hands.
The golden energy was drained from Gilgamesh and into the deviant, my face contorting with a horrified expression as there was nothing I could do but watch. Once the Deviant was done, Gilgamesh was thrown to the ground roughly. I ignored the Deviant, running to Gilgameshs side, trying to freeze over his wounds but it was already too late to save him.
"No. Gilgamesh." I ran over sadly with a frown.
"Stay back." Gilgamesh warned as I turned him onto his back to take a look.
"Ajak... Her memories... I understand now. I can see what she saw." The newly transformed Deviant croaked out while I glared daggers at it, kneeling beside Gilgamesh. "So many planets. So much life destroyed every time a Celestial is born." Gilgamesh tried to sit up weakly as I listened to what the Deviant had to say. "Arishem used us and left us to die with each emergence. We just wanted to survive. And then he sent you. I will kill you all for what you have done to my kind. You are not saviors, Eternals. You are murderers." He went to attack us again when a beam of light shot at him.
"Ikaris!" I shouted once he scared off the Deviant. Ikaris looked back, not yet knowing what happened after he left us. He slowly landed by us, the others coming over slowly as Thena ran over. I stepped back slightly, staying away from Ikaris as Thena took my place and held Gilgamesh's hand, tears filling her eyes to the brim.
"Help her" Gilgamesh told her, knowing now what Thena was seeing with me since we had all gotten together again.
"No. No." Thena cried when his head drooped. Ikaris looked down and I did as well, unable to witness this, the others finally stepping closer. "Ill help her, i'll hep her" She cried, laying him on his back gently. Druig stepped up beside me, keeping space between us as we watched Thena cry over his body.
"Isla, are you hurt?" Ikaris asked, stepping towards me and reaching out while I stepped back defensively, not sure who to trust anymore.
"Im fine" I replied coldly, walking off towards the village without looking back.
I sat on one of the benches in the old church, peeling off my shirt to reveal the wound from the Deviant. Druig knocked on the door, having seen me got in there. When he got no reply he slowly stepped inside, looking around carefully until his eyes fell on the bleeding wound on my back which I tried to patch up poorly.
"Here, let me help" He spoke up and I shot a harsh glare over my shoulder as he took another step closer. "You can't clean that properly by yourself" He added and with a sigh I turned back forward, silently letting him clean the wound.
Druig accepted the silence with welcome arms, sitting behind me and just taking in the little moments. My back tensed as his fingers brushed the skin there but neither of us said anything. Once the wound was properly cleaned and covered Druig stepped back, leaving me to pull my shirt on again.
"We are having a ceremony for Gilgamesh as sundown" He said before walking out. My facade crumpled as the door shut and the tears started to fall. I wiped them away as sobs wracked my body, simply wanting to be back home where I was safe.
