"So, when we're you gonna tell me you kept this?" Druig asked, sneaking up on me as he held the ring up for me to see. The statue I had been looking at turned to ice in a instant before I glared back at the other Eternal for startling me. "My beautiful, beautiful, Isla" He grinned, hoping I would come back to him.
"That's not mine" I shook my head at him and he frowned slightly before covering it up.
"I'm sorry, what are we watching? Because this..." Phastos gestured between us confused.
"Is this new? Are you messing with him" Kingo asked adding onto it as Makkari joined the circle and looked to Ikaris before sharing a look with Thena.
"Ikaris hasn't told you?" Makkari signed her question with confusion, glancing around the group before her eyes fell on me.
"Ikaris hasn't told us what?" Druig grew defensive.
"It's nothing. Phastos, Druig needs to control the mind of a celestial" Ikaris stepped forward getting them back on track. Druig shot him a harsh glare while I looked to Makkari with confusion and Thena watched me carefully. Ikaris grabbed me by the bicep tightly, pulling me away from Driug who slipped the ring into my hand, careful not to let Ikaris see. I was dragged across the room, everyone watching closely before Phastos cleared his throat.
"Okay, get ready for it." Phastos started, bringing up his design in the golden magic.
"Bracelets? You made us bracelets?" Kingo asked, unamused. I felt the simple metal band in my hand, watching Druig who was listening to Phastos, unable to look to me and Ikaris.
"So, here's a little Celestial 101. Celestials are the most powerful energy generators in the universe. When Arishem made us, he imbued us with infinite cosmic energy to keep our bodies regenerating. The bracelets, in theory, shut down our regeneration process. And once that happens, our bodies accumulate extra cosmic energy." Phastos explained as we all listened along.
"What for?" Sersi wondered.
"Well, if the Deviants can absorb our energy, what if we can absorb each other's energy as well?" He posed his hypothesis. "If I can find a way to connect us all, one of us could become immensely powerful, pulling the accumulated energy from the rest, forming... a UniMind." He clapped his hands proudly showing us the set up of how it would work. I looked to him with my brows pulled together, not impressed by the name. "'Uni' meaning 'one,' 'mind' meaning 'mind.'" Phastos looked around eagerly for a reaction.
"Oh, no, we heard you the first time." Kingo told him.
"Terrible name." Sprite nodded as I agreed as well.
"We'll brainstorm... 'Brainstorm'! That's a way better name!" Kingo cheered at his idea.
"No, I invented it, so I'm calling it whatever I want." Phastos shot it down, the duo arguing before I waved them off.
"So suppose Druig" I glanced over at him. "can, say... put Tiamut to sleep. Then what?" I prompted.
"We find humans a new home on another planet." Sersi suggested.
"Are we building a big ship, too? Take a pair of each animal?" Sprite offered as I smirked at her sarcasm.
"Well, you know what's never saved the planet? Your sarcasm." Phastos countered.
"Space colonization could take decades." She pointed out.
"It can happen quickly with our help." Sersi reminded with hope.
"What if we end up accidentally killing Tiamut? We could be responsible for billions of lives not being created across the universe. Boss, am I right?" Kingo looked at Ikaris to back him up. I was shocked at his view on this, still not understanding what was going on with Ikaris.
