I lock the door of my house and smile up at it. My first ever house that I live in with no one to bother me. I stood for what felt like seconds but I knew was minutes. I turned around, warmth settling in my heart, feeling so responsible. I turn the corner and found a girl about my age staring straight into my soul. I jump back and whimper. The face looked oddly familiar. "Do I... Do I know you?" I ask hesitantly, choosing my words carefully.

***

I stared at her, it still felt weird to be like this. I could now feel pain and emotions. I'm not just a spirit, but a person. I'm still trying to learn to run, breath, talk & use my facial expressions. When I first descended I was drawn to this place and when this girl, around my human age came around the corner. She looked oddly familiar. As my first day on earth, I needed to find out why. She spoke to me so I had to respond, here goes nothing I thought. "Hfi......how far you" Damn I thought, I can't even understand myself. She probably thinks I just came out from under a rock. I breathed in hard, hurting my chest and tried again. "Hi........h-how a-a-re......you" I cringed inwardly. Well at least that was better.

***

I blinked in confusion and thoughts ran through my mind. Had she escaped from an asylum? I wanted to slap myself for being so cruel. I walked over to her and touched her shoulder. Suddenly, electricity shot through my veins and I jumped back screaming. My eyes widened in shock when It was over and my fearful eyes stared into hers. "What are you?" I ask, my voice hoarse.

***

looked at her, my face blank. I didn't trust myself speaking yet so instead I tried to smile but it came out all wonky and weird, almost like I have facial deficiency.

***

I stepped back and turned to run in the other direction, then realised I couldn't leave her helpless and roaming around. I smile cautiously at her and speak in a sappy baby voice I would always use to my newborn cousins. "Where are your parents?"

***

I took this time to study her features. Well tanned, beautiful Hazel brown eyes and Light brown hair. She was slightly curvy and stubby. A cute type of stubby. I looked at her again. Am I meant to look like that as well I thought. I was quite different. I had long black, thick glossy hair. Pale skin, Bright blue eyes and I was tall and lean. I looked around to spot someone else but it was just us. I realized that she was speaking to me in a weird, squeaky voice. Was she sick? I thought. "N-no Parents" I said trying to mimic her voice, which I instantly regretted because it was exactly the same. Way to cause attention. Again.

***

I suppress a giggle by the obvious way she tries to mimic my baby voice, instead letting out a loud snort. I cover my mouth, but the girl just blankly stares at me. "Well.. What's your name! I'm Georgia!" I ask uncomfortably.

***

I hesitated before I spoke. I was visualizing how to say and pronounce the word. "Afriel" I said. I was about to say something else before I remembered how she touched my shoulder. When contact was made a sharp jolt of electricity went up my spine. I had an idea but I wasn't certain. If I was right, she was the half Blood.

***

"Afriel... That's an.... Interesting name..." I blink in her direction and smile warmly. "Umm.. Let's see... Okay.... What is the last thing you remember...?" I ask, what could I possibly do with her!

***

I decided not to answer that so instead I said. "Do you go to a school?" I needed to find out if she is the Half blood. Watch over her when she Awakens. Does she have a home? I thought

***

She had completely avoided my question. "Umm.. No actually.. I'm 21 and I just moved into my new house. But I do go to college." I smile proudly at how my life was on such a good path.

***

College I Thought. Of course. "Which college?" I asked. "Do you live alone in your house?" I added. I hoped that didn't sound too awkward or suspicious. I needed a place to stay. I can't live on the streets. With a human body I need to take care of it like a normal human, so now I need to eat, drink, exercise and wash. Why are humans so needy! I thought and gave out a frustrated sigh on the inside. This is all so new so I need someone to help me.

***

This little girl was really creeping me out! As I was about to walk away, the words tumbled from my mouth without me even trying "Sanya Girls College and I live with my pet parrot, Saffron." I cupped my hands over my mouth. What if she was a hired spy! What if she was a stalker! Thoughts tumbled through my head but I just stayed glued to the ground, shocked.

***

I was sad I had to force her to tell me but I needed to know. "I don't have a home, could I live with you. I was going to the exact same college as well. Well my first day there will be this coming Monday so I need help in getting ready. I'm not a spy or a stalker so don't worry. I just moved here" I said softly and quickly. I then gave her a sad smile. For sympathy of course

***

Sympathy lodged at me deep in my heart, even though something fishy still stood out about her. I would just take her to the police so she could find a new home! It's not like I would let her stay with me? "Of course! Bring your stuff I have a spare room I can lend you!" WHAT WAS I SAYING. Afriel's eyes filled with hope and there was no going back now...
