A/N: I promise. I am working on this story. However, I have been working on others more. If you want me to update this before I actually do, feel free to tell me to update, but please give me about three days to do so.

Thanks

The two guards looked up and saw me for the first time. Their mouths were open, and they were about to say something, but I had let go of the light fixture and dropped onto them while Timothy broke free from his binds before they could do anything and punched the one that I hadn't had my eyes set on.

I landed on one of their faces, crushing in their mask before I did a black flip and landed on the ground before them. I narrowed my eyes and scowled at Timothy when he made it to my side before I looked at the two men before me.

"You," one of the guards said, breaking the silence that had fallen on us while the other one groaned in pain and clutched his side. "You are the one that is this half-breed that he is talking about?" he asked and looked at me up and down, and I pressed my lips into a thin line. He laughed, and I rolled my eyes and scowled. "You are what, five?"

"That is what my blood says," I said, and Timothy had to bite back a snort because this was the first time he had heard me talk. "Shut up, Timothy," I said, my voice harsh. I didn't look at him and kept my gaze on the two men. "This is not the time."

Timothy didn't say another word, but a snort escaped his tight lips. He kept his eyes on the two men, even though I had a feeling that he wanted to look at me and see what I looked up close and personal.

They looked at each other before they looked at me and scowled. "You should go back to where you are supposed to be, little girl," one of them said. "This is not something that you should see."

"I think not," I replied. "Now, why don't you two be nice and leave without telling anyone that we are here? That way, you two don't get your ass kicked by a "five-year-old little girl,"" I said, even though I knew that they were going to try and fight us.

The guard hissed and narrowed his eyes. "Like you can do any damage to us," he said and bared his teeth at us, and I grinned and narrowed my eyes.

"Do you want to make a bet?" I asked and narrowed my eyes further while I looked at them, my whole body ready for the fight that I knew was to come. "I'm pretty sure that we can kick your ass before you kick ours."

"Do you want the girl or the boy?" one of the aliens asked, switching to their tongue, and the guard that had been punched groaned and stood.

"The boy," the other guard replied and narrowed his eyes at Timothy, and he raised an eyebrow and grinned. "I want the boy. You can take the puny girl."

I bit back a snort and held back an eye roll, pretending that I didn't understand a word they said. I glanced at Timothy to see that he was looking at me and subtly gestured to the one that I had stepped on, indicating that was the one I wanted to attack.

Timothy subtly nodded and turned his attention back to the guards and flicked his fingers a little, indicating that we were going to attack on his count.

I held back an eye roll and scowled but didn't say a word while I looked at the guards, making sure to keep one eye on Timothy's fingers.

I took a deep breath and released it while I flexed my fingers, waiting for either them or Timothy to say to attack first.

The two guards looked at each other before they looked at us, grinned, and started to run towards us, and Timothy didn't release us to meet them.

God damnit, Timothy, I thought, biting back a hiss and narrowed my eyes further while I waited. What the hell are you waiting for?

Still, Timothy didn't release us, and I was getting more annoyed with him with each passing second.

Finally, when they were almost on top of us, Timothy released us, and we both attacked the ones that wanted to attack us.

I ducked under the guard's leg and twisted around before I kicked his butt.

The guard hissed and twisted around towards me. "Bitch," he said in his tongue, and I grinned wickedly because he had no idea how much of a bitch I could be.

His eyes grew wide, and a look of shock and nervousness appeared on his face. "Can you understand me?" he asked in their tongue, his voice barely above a whisper.

"What do you think?" I asked in their tongue and raised an eyebrow. "And, yes, I can speak it."

The person that Timmy was fighting looked at me as well and stopped fighting him. He opened his mouth to say something in their tongue, but he quickly turned his attention back to his attacker when Timmy knocked him to the ground.

"Pay attention to your kid," the other officer yelled at his counterpart in their language. He grunted when I landed a quick kick to his side before I backed away so that he couldn't hit me. "Stupid, Idiot. Look what you made her do."

I bit back a snort and narrowed my eyes. I had no idea why he hadn't attacked me as he should and silently wondered if he was one of those that didn't like the way that things were run.

"Uh... Joy, why aren't you fighting yours?" Timmy asked when he grunted and punched his guard in the face.

"Shut up," I said and kept my eyes on the guard, waiting for him to attack again.

He's only trying to figure out who you are, a voice from somewhere said. He's not safe.

I pressed my lips into a thin line but believed the voice because as soon as it said that, my gut tightened, and I had a feeling that he was trying to figure out my bloodline and why I was a half breed.

The guard hissed in frustration before he went and attacked me, and I dodged his attack before I struck him again.

I gritted my teeth, annoyed that I was still short, but I didn't let that stop me while I fought my guard, using the skills and tricks I learned with the Committee at this size.

"You should stay with us," the guard hissed in his tongue, and I held back an eye roll and a scowl but snorted. "You are nothing to them. You are just some test subject. They don't care about you."

"It doesn't matter," I replied and grabbed his hand. "Because they aren't eating others like you are." I twisted his arm behind his back and punched him with my other hand, using the weapon I had hidden to knock him out. "And there are still those that do care for me unlike you."

I dropped him to the ground and looked at Timmy to see him knock out his. "Ready?" I asked when he looked at me.

Timmy nodded in confirmation and grinned, his eyes disappearing. "As ever," he said. "Let's get them taken care of and get you back to your normal height and then we can start saving people. I think they know that the Committee is here now."

I shrugged and grimaced. "It doesn't matter if they do or not," I replied. "All that matters is getting the people here to safety."

"And to get you in a position that you can be your normal height and not the little girl you find yourself to be in."

I rolled my eyes. "Shut up," I said. "Just, shut up and let's go."

And with that, I started to run in the direction I knew where we had supplies hidden from others, and Timmy followed me, laughing.

Gods, why was I stuck with him? I silently wondered with pursed lips, even though a part of me knew why and I didn't want to admit it. Why?
