3. Jealousy 💢

*Shinobu's POV*

When I don't have any patients in my office to visit, I usually spend my time with the other Hashiras.
Well, except for Tomioka.
It's not like we don't spend any time together, like we have lunch together sometimes and we have the chance to go on a mission together at times.
But well, I would like to spend some time alone with her not in a professional way, but more in an intimate way.
And not the intimacy I have with my friends, but that kind of intimacy.
The thing is, as much as I like her she's very hard to catch, and when you do she always tries to escape from me.

Actually I'm used to her behaviour, but at times like this she really pisses me off.

It's been a week from our little 'talk' at my mansion, and since then she keeps avoiding me.
Not like she usually does with the others. Because when she avoids everyone she just ignores them, but with me it's even worse than usual.

For example, not only she doesn't answer me but she even turns her head away from me.
Or she's inventing some dumb excuses to not be alone with me, from refusing to have lunch/dinner together to not visiting my mansion with her injuries.

It's not like I can't handle her silly behaviour, but she should at least prioritise her health over her embarrassment.
Well, I guess if she prefers to act like this, then the least i can do is watch her moves and try to understand what's going on in her head, even if it's clearly understandable.

-Skip time- (still Shinobu's POV)

These days, Master is assigning us more missions than usual to all the hashiras and the corp, so I didn't have a chance to talk to Tomioka yet.

Good thing it seems she's been called by Master today, that must mean that he will assign us a mission together since i've been called too.
-"Tomioka-san~" I say to her leaning on her shoulder.
She flinches, blushes and suddenly gets off covering her shoulder.
-"K-Kocho...?" she says, apparently relaxing after realizing it's me.

But you shouldn't let your guard down around me, Tomioka.

-"Oh my! Did I surprise you?" I ask.
She doesn't answer but coughs a little to clear her throat and nods.
-"Today is such a good weather, don't you think?" I say, trying to start a conversation,which I know it's not going to happen.
She nods and looks at the sky.
-"Well, it seems like we both got called by Master, so that must mean we're going on a mission together! Aren't you happy?" I ask, with a teasing tone.
-"It...seems like it. I don't mind I guess." she says.
-"Then let's not keep Master waiting and let's go!" I say grabbing her wrist and heading towards Master's mansion.

When we arrive, we both take a seat facing Master's and his two lovely daughters's empty seats.
It seems they didn't come yet so we must wait for them.
Tomioka looks a bit nervous but it's not the first time so I refrain myself from teasing her this time.
Then suddenly, as I'm about to say something to her, the door loudly opens as my veins almost pop out of my head from the anger I'm feeling.

That boy, the last person I'd like to see right now, enters the room out of breath.
Suddenly that scene comes in my mind, Him laying on Tomioka's lap, and her patting his head like she's comforting him.
The same boy she risked her life for at the trial and whose whole life depends on his sister just because she had to 'save' her.

Tanjiro falls on the floor trying to catch his breath again, and Tomioka gets up taking the box on his shoulders off.
She kneels down and puts a hand on his back, patting it to help him breathe.
Damn it, this day couldn't go worse.
-"...Are you okay Tanjiro?" she says in a concerned tone.
-"I...*pant* really...a-am *huff* I'm...sorry for being *pant* late!" he says.
