I shook my leg anxiously in the front seat of my dad's car. My younger brother and sister were arguing in the back seat. "Twenty more minutes." My dad said in relief. I leaned my head against the cold window. "You good?" My dad said. I shrugged. "I'm kinda nervous I guess. There's a lot of new kids this year." I said. He nodded. The rest of the ride consisted of Henry and Espie arguing, and light music.

I slammed the trunk door after grabbing my suitcase. There were at least a hundred cars either dropping off kids, or kids driving themselves.

I gave my dad a final hug before walking through the barrier. As soon as I walked past, I felt instant relief.

Espie, Faith, and P.J. went running off instantly. Layla, Julius, Luke, and Sammy caught up to me.

"You guys excited?" Layla asked. "Totally." Sammy said. "It's my last summer before college, before I go to New Rome.  I'm switching to Camp Jupiter next year. I wanna make this one count." He wrapped his arms around us. Layla shrugged out and ran away. "Come on you guys!" She yelled, waving her arm. We all ran after her.

We all stopped running when we reached our cabin, out of breath. We went inside with our backpacks, and eachother.

Espie and Faith were already sitting on their bunk bed across the room. Elaina was complaining they stole her bunk, but they couldn't care less and were involved in a game of Battleship.

Henry was outside a window thinking we couldn't see him making out with Riley Stoll. I rolled my eyes at my stupid brother.

I walked slowly over to my bunk that I share with Luke. I threw my suitcase over the top and climb the ladder up to the top bunk. Luke is deadly afraid of hights, even seven feet. So I claimed the top bed, per use.

I hung up a picture of my of my three siblings. The picture was taken five years ago, before Henry was old enough for camp. They were all actually cute in the picture. Henry and Espie are annoying teens now, and Haven was a toddler in the picture. Now she's a little demon.

After setting up my bed area, I decided to take a walk around camp. Just a nice relaxing walk. Happy, calm, fun walk.

I sliced the monster in half with my sword as a bunch of other campers came running with Chiron. There goes my relaxing walk, I thought as I stared at the monster that had just broken through the barrier. "Leo Valdez!" I heard my name get screamed. I sighed and turned around to face Chiron. "What just happened?" He said angrily. "I don't know, I was on a walk and this monster just came to kill me!" I mumbled. Chiron shook his head.

Everyone was ordered to their cabins, but he had me come with him to the Big House. He threw a coin in a goblet of water and waited for the Iris Message to come through. I thought he was contacting my dad, but when someone showed up, it was Percy.

"What did P.J. do?" He sighed. "Hello Perseus. And your son did nothing wrong. It was Leo this time." Chiron nodded to me. I was just getting comfy on the couch. Apparently not. Percy sighed and shook his head. "What happened?"

As Chiron explained the situation to Percy, I weighed my life decisions. Have anxiety so I go on a walk and almost get killed on the first day of camp, or take my meds (which I didn't do today), and not have this problem. Why didn't I take my meds?

The only part of Percy and Chiron's conversation was where they brought up the Golden Fleece. It was one of the first stories Percy would tell Layla, Julius, Sammy and I whenever he was watching us years back. I never thought paying attention to the story would be useful, but now I'm grateful it's been drilled into my brain.

Apparently there's a chance something is wrong with the Fleece, and there needs to be a quest to fix it.
