"(Y/n)!"
"Gred, Feorge!"
Cedric stopped in his tracks as the girl beside him rushed forward to hug the two red heads.
He gave a weak sigh and walked up.
"(Y/n). Transfigurations? We're going to be late." He whispered lightly.
The girl laughed with Fred and George, completely unaware of the boy next to him.
"(Y/n)..?"
"Hm? What was that?"
"Never mind." He walked off, with his cloak trailing behind.
"Did I do something?"
Fred and George glanced at each other, then looked back at the girl.
"Well, considering you just ignored him-"
"-yes."
"You did something." The two finished off the sentence together.
(Y/n) struck at the realization that she had been neglecting her childhood best friend for these two.
"Damn it.. I didn't realize."
"Yeah, well, maybe you should go.. I don't know. Catch up to him?" Fred asked.
"Will do! Thank you, boys." And with that, she hurried to Transfigurations.
-----
(Y/n) sat down next to Cedric as the boy gave a weak sigh.
"Ced? I'm sorry."
"No, no. It's okay." He muttered, flipping through his transfigurations textbook.
"Let me apologize!"
Cedric laughed.
"Go on."
"I'm sorry for ignoring you. You know I still love you either way, right?"
His face twitched a little at the sentence.
"Yeah. Forgiven."
-----
[Cedric pov]
She said she loves me..
I know she doesn't love me the way I love her, though.
God damn it, Cedric, when will you tell her..
-----
[Y/n pov]
I don't know what's up with Ced, but he sure has been acting weird.
It's like he avoids me on purpose, but he doesn't seem to dislike my presence.
What is going on in your mind, Cedric..
-----
"Ced, could you help?"
"Yeah, what's wrong?" Cedric perked his head over to look at (Y/n)'s potion, seeing it turn a pearlescent colour.
"Hey, that's really good! Now, just add the pearl shards, and I think you'll be fine." Cedric replied, for once impressed his friend was able to keep up.
It was the last class of the day, Potions.
"You sure? I don't want to blow up the class.." The girl replied, cautiously looking at the potion. "..again."
"You'll be very much fine (Y/n)." Cedric giggled, turning back to his own potion.
(Y/n) dropped a few pearl shards into her cauldron as she watched carefully, hoping not to make a mess once more.
To her surprise, nothing happened.
"I did it..! Cedric, I did it!" She squealed.
"Well done, (Y/n)!" The brunette replied with a little chuckle.
"(L/n). You better not be causing any trouble again."
The girl turned around to meet the onyx eyes of her professor, who was looking down into her potion.
"Hm.. it looks fine, I believe." Snape muttered.
"Thank you, Professor." (Y/n) smirked lightly.
He ducked down to smell the potion as she crossed her fingers tight.
"Yes. Good job on brewing your first successful potion." He said, leaning back up. "What does it smell like to you, (L/n)?"
"Hmm.. nothing." She replied.
Cedric's heart ached a little as he forced a smile beside her.
"Is yours Lily Potter, Professor?" The girl teased a little.
Her professor shot her a Death stare and the girl immediately shut up.
"Sorry, Professor Snape."
"Five points from Hufflepuff."
"Again?!"
"Make that ten points."
The girl pouted and just shut her mouth, puffing her cheeks as she turned to her textbook.
'Heh.. cute.' Cedric giggled.
She suddenly thought about something, turning to face her brunette friend.
"Hey, Ced?"
"Yeah, (Y/n)?"
"What do you smell?"
Cedric froze. His face tinted a hint of red as he gave a gulp.
"N-Nothing.. just like you.."
"Oh. Well damn. Guess we'll be single together then." The girl shrugged.
"Y-Yeah.. I guess we will." Cedric replied, sluring through his words.
'Way to go, Cedric. Just tell her already!' He cursed under his breath, giving a weak sigh.
"See you at Quidditch?" (Y/n) questioned.
"As always. Don't be late, seeker."
"Aye-aye, captain!"
