the way back home was as if nothing ever happened. you were relieved that alec seemed to be doing fine, and funneh appeared to be back to her normal self as well.

"so (y/n), you wanna go get something to eat or?" she asked, glancing at you from her rear view mirror.

"it's kind of late isn't it?" you were worried that your parents would talk your ear off if you were to come back home late. because of the circumstances, you just knew they'd get 10 times more protective than they already were, and you weren't ready to let go of your freedom just yet. "actually, why not. let's get some coffee- you guys can pick the food if that's okay?" you suggested, earning approval from the two girls.

"it's been so long since it was just us girls." gold mentioned. she stared at herself in the mirror that was above her seat, reapplying her mascara and touching up any imperfections - not to say that there were any to begin with.

"i know! you never spend time with us anymore (n/n)." funneh's smiled dropped slightly. it was as if her demeanor from earlier dispersed amongst the steam of the windows on the car.

"aw, i'm sorry, you guys. i've just sort of been.." you were trying to find a reasonable excuse, one that wouldn't make them feel guilty or pushed aside. "stressed out."

"but we're all girls here! you can talk to us about anything; more than you can with the guys anyway." gold closed her mirror back up and turned around to give you a piece of gum.

"you're right, i'm sorry. i've known both alec and kyran for so long, it's hard to make friends again- you know?"
they stayed quiet, waiting for you to continue.
"but i'll try to- you know. be more involved with you. i think i like quality girl time a tiny bit more anyways." this wasn't a lie, the girls made you feel at peace in a way. you didn't have to worry about impressing them or having to look over your appearance over 100 times, because they didn't put you under the impression that you had to.

"it's okay, but we're here! i'll pay today, don't worry." funneh exclaimed, almost jumping out of the car and choking on her seatbelt.

"wait, you're paying? where did you get the money?" gold asked. she doesn't remember funneh mentioning a side hustle, nor a job.

"oh! i.. uh- worked for a tiny bit but got fired like the next week haha." funneh slurred her words as she said this, almost as if she didn't know where she got payed from either.

gold of course, stood pessimistic. she was concerned about where she had actually gotten the money from, but didn't say a word since you were there and didn't want to cause a scene or make anyone uncomfortable.

"yes, awesome. can we go inside now please? i'm freezing." your arms hugged your own body for warmth, waiting for them to start walking inside the cafe.

you all sat down at a nearby booth, talking about things you wouldn't generally announce while with the guys. they made the atmosphere feel comfortable, and sure enough, you were soon able to talk about everything that has been going on.

"yeah, we've kissed about.. i wanna say 3 times? i don't know, i'm not counting." you took a sip from your drink, savoring every drop.

"WHAT! and we've never known about this important information because..?" gold practically yelled, as she stood up and slammed her hands against the table, inching closer to you. the entire cafe took notice of this and the attention was now upon your table. her face flushed with anxiety, sitting herself back down and looking down in embarrassment. you and funneh chuckled at this since it wasn't often that gold caused such scenes. she was usually the calm and collected kind of person, so watching this was an interesting experience.
