New Zealand pov.
When I walked outside, I didn't expect to see Ame, Mexico, Poland and Germany flying gracefully, their every move carefully practiced, and the looks on their faces is one of pure joy and freedom. Ame noticed me in the yard, and started to descend.
"What's up Kiwi?" Ame asked, once he landed fully.
"I was trying to look for Roo, but I couldn't find him anywhere." I told my older brother.
"Did he ever bring up bringing a snake into your shared room?" He asked.
"Yes, and Belarus declined." I replied.
"Then check," Ame started, and pointed towards the left most portion of the yard, "over there, because that's where Florida found the snake." Ame finished, I nodded in thanks and he took of into the air rejoining the other three. I walked over to the side of the yard Ame said to check, and found my sleeping twin. I nudged him gently for him to wake up.
"Oi, wake up sleepy head." I told my brother.
"Damn Z, I'm up." Aussie replied dryly.
"Nope, come on, I need your help with lunch." I told him. Roo reluctantly got up and followed me to the kitchen. It took both of us an hour or so to fully fix lunch, but once it was finished we called everyone in to eat. Once everyone arrived in the dinning hall, we started eating. It didn't take long for everyone to finish lunch and go back to their activities. I went out to the backyard and saw Ame, NASA and the branches that had a challenge to do. I walked closer to them, and watched them from next to Ame, who had acknowledged my presence near them.
"Ok, you two are going to do a friendly spar to make sure that you hand to hand combat is as good as your gunmanship." Ame told them, they looked at each other readily. "Go!" Ame called out starting their match.
Confederate pov.
I was sittin' in my room, not really wantin' to deal with the other countries at the current moment. I looked around for somethin' to do, and eventually spotted my guitar in the corner. 'Might as well, it's been a while since I last played.' I thought to myself. I picked up the guitar and headed to the livin' room, and set up on the couch. I started to playin' a random song, and singin' along with it, until I looked up to find the kids watchin' me intently. Once I finished the song, they cheered.
"Thanks y'all." I told them slightly surprised that 58 of them were sittin' on the floor in front of me.
"Play some more, it's been a long time since you played Uncle Dixie." Illi told me, her siblins agreein' with her.
"Alright, what song do y'all want me to play?" I asked them.
"Last Night by Morgan Wallen." Mississippi called out. I nodded and started preparin' the guitar. Once I felt ready it started playing the song.
"Last night we let the liquor talk, I can't remember everythin' we said but we said it all, you told me that you wish I was somebody you'd never met, but baby baby somethin's tellin' me this ain't over yet, no way it was our last night." I sang, I looked over the kids quickly to see if anyone else joined the crowd. "I kiss your lips, Make you grip the sheets with your fingertips, Last bottle of Jack we split a fifth, Just talk about life goin' sip for sip, You, you know you love to fight, And I say shit I don't mean, But I'm still gon' wake up wantin' you and me." I looked over, and saw that most of the other countries were here, and watching me sing. "I know that last night we let the liquor talk, I can't remember everything we said but we said it all, You told me that you wish I was somebody you never met, But baby, baby somethin's tellin' me this ain't over yet, No way it was our last night, No way it was our last night." Some of the kids sang the chorus with me, and I saw North walk in. "No way it was the last night that we break up I see your tail lights in the dust, You call your momma, I call your bluff." I sang catchin' Union's gaze, and he acknowledged me.
"In the middle of the night, pull it right back up, Yeah my, my friends say let her go, Your friends say what the hell, I wouldn't trade your kind of love for nothin' else." We sang together, I recaptured his attention and he walked over the couch.
"Oh baby, last night we let the liquor talk, I can't remember everything we said but we said it all, You told me that you wish I was somebody you never met, But baby, baby somethin's tellin' me this ain't over yet." Yankee joined me, sittin' next to me on the couch. "No way it was our last night, we said we'd had enough, I can't remember everything we said but we said too much, I know you packed your shit and slammed the door right before you left, But baby, baby somethin's tellin' me this ain't over yet, No way it was our last night, No way it was our last night." Union nodded.
"I know you said this time you really weren't coming back again, But baby, baby somethin's tellin' me this ain't over yet, No way it was our last night, No way it was our last night." We finished in unison. Everyone stood up and clapped.
"That was awesome you two." Maple told us.
"It was nothin' Nada, but what happened to the pissy brit?" I asked out of genuine curiosity.
"He went to bed a good bit ago, but hey since everyone else is here, I'll start on dinner, anyone want to help?" Poland asked.
"I'll help, Polen." Germany replied leaving his spot on the wall.
"Dixie, walk with me for a minute, yeah?" Mexico told me, I nodded and followed her outside.
"What'd you wanna talk 'bout Mex?" I asked her.
"I know your trying to avoid the others, but if you need anyone to talk to, just know I'm always here if you need someone to talk to." She replied, I nodded, and hugged her. "It looks like Ame want to talk to you." She whispered in my ear. I released the hug and looked behind me.
"Goldie can we get a moment alone please?" North asked her. She nodded and left the yard.
"What's wrong North?" I asked him.
"I'm sorry, I should have done more, I keep getting that same dream about the night we lost you, I never told anyone especially not the kids, I wanted to tell you when you were talking to Russia, but I didn't know how to say it." He replied.
"Oh, North I never blamed you for what happened, we did what we had to do to keep the kids safe, I never held a grudge against you, and I never will." I told him.
"South, I-." Union's dam broke, so being the great brother I am, I pulled 'em into a hug, and let him cry on my shoulder.
"It's alright North, it's alright." I tried to comfort 'em, but it didn't work, we ended up standin' in this position for a few minutes, until I had to lead 'em to his Russian roommate, for him to go to bed.
