I've always despised the thought of "Pink is a girly color"
Why do girls get to explore all colors, but when guys like some color such as pink, they are criticized saying it's a girly color?
Whenever I saw a guy wearing a pink shirt or having a pink accessory, I always admired him for not getting bound to societal norms. I thought people shouldn't be biased to something gender specific. I admired myself for thinking so. (Too much self-love)
But until one day I realized how worse I am. I was scrolling through my Pinterest when I came across some similar post with caption something like 'Guys wearing pink are the cutest/handsome'. I was reading the comments where there were many girls commenting 'I agree', 'So true', etc.
Then there was another comment from a guy which was 'You people are all hypocrites. Whenever I wore a pink shirt, the girls in my class used to admire me. But once when I had my nails painted, the same girls were laughing at me saying it's so weird and all.' That is when I realized I had been wrong all along. I've been the same when a cousin of mine had his nails painted.
Since then I've been training myself to become a much better version of me. Where do you stand in this struggle?
