"Han Jisung! You knew that party was important and yet you ran away. Can you spend one day without embarassing us?"

"Mom I-"

Han grabbed Minho's hand and shook his head slightly at him. Minho was confused but he paused, nonetheless.

"I am sorry, mom. I won't repeat it."

"The client was important, Jisung. Do you have any idea what situation you put us in last night? And you took Minho with yourselves too? When will you start acting matu-"

"Dad! I took him away not the other way round."

"Minho, you don't have to protect him."

"I'm not. It was his first birthday after marriage. I wanted to kinda surprise him. He denied it but I forced him so if you want to scold, scold me."

"Minho, you should have at least informed us that you guys are leaving. We had a few important clients here last night who wanted to meet you guys." Mr. Han's voice softened.

"Dad, last night was his night, not the clients'. He was the star of the party. He should be happy first and then the others. Isn't it?"

"Minho hyung, let's not." The sudden drop in Minho's tone was enough to indicate to Han that Minho was anything but calm.

"We were just worried about you guys, Minho."

"Finally. I almost got worried that you were more worried about upsetting the client than your missing son."

"Minho hyung!" Han shook his head once again and squeezed the elder's palm trying to calm him. He never saw the elder get angry in the last month so he got worried.

"I am sorry, mom and dad. It won't happen ever again. Please forgive us." Han bowed a perfect 90° in front of the elders and pressured at his hyung's back forcing him to bow as well.

He only raised back when his parents hummed in satisfaction. After apologizing to his parents once again, Han dragged Minho back to his room.

"Minho hyung." Han approached Minho with the softest tone he could muster.

"Hyung, I am sorry for my parents. They weren't angry or anything at you. Please don't be mad. They just-"

"Hannie, I'm not-" Minho took a deep breath after looking at Han's frightened eyes and continued, "I'm sorry for scaring you off. I'm not mad at you, Hannie, trust me!"

"Really? Thank God!" Han smiled and scratched his cheeks.

"God Hannie!" Minho pulled Han by his wrist and wrapped his other hand around the younger.

Han wanted to bask more and more into the warmth of Minho's embrace but he had to pull out of it reluctantly to receive the phone call which interrupted their moment. Minho rolled his eyes watching the younger's eyes brighten when he looked at the screen

"Hi mom!!" Han chirped.

"Hey champ!" How's it going?"

"Great mom! Both of us are fine. Hyung, say hi. It's mom." Han put the phone on speaker.

"Hey mom!"

"Had your breakfast?"

"Yes mom!" Minho smoothly lied to cover up the drama that happened the minute they entered the house.

" I heard you guys ran away somewhere last night?"

Han gulped at this. He didn't want to disappoint her too. She was the one of the very few people that genuinely cared about him.

' It's all because of this stupid birthday. I shouldn't have-'

"Did you guys enjoy?"

Okay. That was the last question Han was expecting. Shouldn't she be angry at him?

"Yes mom! The party was super boring so I took him out."

"My son took his husband out on a date!! When did my baby grew up so much, Minnie? I'm a proud mom."

Minho could totally imagine his mom's teasing smile while saying all of that.

"Mom!! You called so early only to tease us?"

"Well, I wanted to know your whereabouts 'cause a little birdy told me that you disappeared with Hannie for the WHOLE NIGHT"

"MOMM!!! Stop imagining weird stuff. It was late so we slept in. That's all."

"I didn't say anything. You are the one explaining."

"MOMMM!!" A shade of red bloomed across Minho's face.

Mrs. Lee disconnected the phone and laughed till her stomach hurts. She knew her son too well and knew how flustered her son would be. This was the first time in years Minho whined like this and she was sure that she was going to see more of it now with Han's presence.
