Wanting to be together

3 more years later

More time had passed as certain teenagers were training themselves. Not only that, but two certain teens will be leaving on their journey to become pirates and make names for themselves. Before they would turn 17 years old, Ace wanted to do something special for his girlfriend before they left together. Ace has been searching for days for the perfect item, but so far no such luck. Ace was determined to find the item and he will not give up until he gets it because he knew it was worth it for (Y/n). It just shows how much he loves her and he will do anything for her. Ace decided to test his luck at Gray Terminal. Since a lot of interesting stuff gets washed ashore there, he might find something that he was looking for. He searched high and lower for whatever he was looking for. As the sun was setting, he was beginning to lose hope and was about to call it a day and try again the next day, but something shiny caught his eye. He quickly dug it out. He held the object up and smiled as he finally found what he was looking for. All he had to do is give it a good cleaning and give it his love. 

Before Ace could leave, he was suddenly surrounded by a bunch of thugs. "Well, well, well. If it isn't Ace. What are you doing here by yourself? Where's that little girlfriend and brother of yours?" One of the thugs said. Ace just smirked at them. "I'm just here minding my own business. So gentlemen, if you don't mind. I got something important to do." Just before Ace could walk away, one of the things noticed that object Ace held in his hand. He steps in front of the 16 years old boy. "Not so fast pal. There's a fee here. So how about you give us that shiny little trinket as payment." 

Ace glared as he held the item close to himself. He worked so far to find the perfect item for (Y/n) and he was not going to lose it. He carefully puts the shiny item in his pocket. "Like hell, I'm going to give this up. If you want then try to take it from me." The thugs got their weapons out and charged at Ace. He was able to dodge some of the thugs. He punched and kick them away. Ace was able to grab one of their weapons and he smirked as he thought it was fair.

 One ass-kicking scene later, Ace was able to beat all the thugs that were surrounding him. Ace searched his pockets just in case and was relieved that the shiny object was still safe in his care. His smile grew as the thought of his girlfriend came to his head. He quickly ran off to find someone else to help out. And luck was on his side. Makino was exactly the friend that can help him with his little trinket. Making sure that (Y/n) wasn't near, Ace showed Makino the object he found. "I found this for (Y/n) and I was wondering if you could fix it up for me," Ace told. Makino gasped before she smiled at him. "Of course! I'll see what I can do." Ace bowed his head. "Thank you, Makino." He hands the item to her, but she quickly hid it when she noticed Luffy and (Y/n) walking toward him. "Hey, Ace! Aren't you going to train with us!?" Luffy shouts out. "On my way!" Ace smiled nervously. He turned to Makino and she gave him a wink that his secret was safe with him. He sighed in relief and joined the other two waiting for him. Ace, (Y/n), and Luffy waved at Makino before they left for training. 

During the past days of training, Ace waited for Makino to come back with his item and hoped it turned out alright. One night, Ace and (Y/n) were laying down on the grass as they were star gazing. Ace had his arm around (Y/n) as she snuggled into his chest. 

"Hey, (Y/n). You said that you planned to become a member of my crew right?" Ace asked. (Y/n) didn't say anything as she laid down on top of Ace. "From what I remember, I thought we were partners in the crew." (Y/n) smirked. Ace chuckles as he played with her hair. "Yeah, I guess you're right, but do you still plan to be with me when we're both pirates?" (Y/n) playfully rolled her eyes. "Does this answer your question?" She leaned in and kissed him. Ace kissed back as he wrapped his arms around her. Once they pulled away, Ace smirked at her. "I guess it does." They both laughed before they kissed again. Ace rolled himself around as he was now on top of (Y/n). She ran her fingers through his hair as they kiss deeper. Ace then broke from her lips as he planted kisses on her jaw to her neck. He moved her black kerchief to the side to get better access to her neck. Then, that's when he began to bite down on her neck. "A-Ace! You're going to leave marks!" (Y/n) gasped from the sudden bite. Ace just smirked and he captured her lips again. They continued their steamy makeout session before they heard Luffy call out to them. Ace groaned in annoyance that his little brother killed the mood. (Y/n) just giggled. They both got up, but (Y/n) quickly tighten her kerchief around her neck. "Why hide it?" Ace smirked feeling proud of himself. "Because it's Luffy and you know he's going to start asking questions that will be hard to get out of." (Y/n) said. "Yeah, you're right." Ace agreed. He wrapped his arm around her waist as they both went over to Luffy. 

The next day, Makino finally came back and showed Ace the item. They had to make sure that (Y/n) wasn't around first. Once the coast was cleared, Makino unwrapped the cloth and showed Ace. From her handy work, it looked brand new and even shinier. "It's perfect! Thank you, Makino! I owe you one!" Ace takes the cloth holding the item. "It's no problem. I also brought this to help you out." Makino hands Ace a box. His smile grew wider since his plan will finally be complete. Makino wished Ace luck as he ran off to find (Y/n). Within a few minutes, he was able to find her admiring the sea by the ledge. He smiled softly as he approached her. (Y/n) was standing as she was daydreaming of becoming a pirate with Ace. When suddenly, an (f/c) flower appears in front of her. She turned to see Ace holding it out to her. She smiled at Ace. She kissed him on the cheek before she placed the flower behind her ear. 

"(Y/n), you know that we'll both turn 17 soon and be pirates?" Ace asked. "Yes, I know that Ace." (Y/n) smiled. "Then, I want to do this before we leave together." Ace kneeled as he held her hand. "A-Ace? What are you doing?" (Y/n)'s eyes widen. "Rosetta D (Y/n), from the moment I met you, at first I thought you were this annoying little girl, at the same time the most beautiful one I've ever seen. You helped me when times were tough. You helped me become stronger and faster, and I've become the person I am now because of you. I love you with all my heart and I want to be with you forever. So I must ask you this..." Ace pulled out the black box Makino gave him to reveal a beautiful golden ring with a gem in the center. "Will you make me the happiest person alive and marry me?" 

(Y/n) gasped at the ring in front of her. "Ace? Are you sure? W-With me?" Ace smiled at her. "I swear it. With you and only you." (Y/n) couldn't hold it in. Tears started to stream from her eyes as she smiled back at Ace. "Yes, yes I will marry you!" Ace's smile grew wider as he slipped the ring onto (Y/n)'s finger. It fits perfectly. Ace picked her up and spins around with her. Once he settled down, they stared lovingly at each other and sealed their happiness with a long kiss. "I'm so glad you said yes," Ace whispered. "Same here." She whispered. (Y/n) captured Ace's lips again before they walked back to the others to reveal the good news. They had to start planning soon since they wished to get married before they set sail. Which they didn't mind at all.
