So, the four children made their deal with Naguri. Throughout the winter, they had help Naguri build his ship. With every wood they chopped and pull, they would discover the new strength they had inside themselves. In return, Naguri would help them train in order to beat the tiger and see which one would be captain. Though the work was quite intense, they learned of what it means to be a pirate. They thought that spring arrived late in Gray Terminal, but the snow was fading away thanks to the warm weather. Now that spring was here, everyone was doing their training back at the cove. Ace and Sabo were sparring each other as they used their pipes, while (Y/n) and Luffy were battling hand to hand combat style. Naguri continues to watch from his seat.

"I'm going to beat you, (Y/n)!" Luffy said as he readies his arm. "Now Gum-Gum Pistol!" Luffy strikes at (Y/n), but she was able to dodge it just in time. Instead of hitting her, he hits Naguri in the face, again.

"Uh-oh." (Y/n) sweat dropped.

"Every damn time! What is wrong with you!?" Naguri yells at Luffy. The boy laughs. "Sorry."

Naguri calmed down and began to talk to the children. "Listen, kids. You've done this enough already, there's more than being a pirate than just whacking everyone with a pipe. Surely you want more than strength." The children listened carefully as Naguri talked.

"Yes, but all of that could wait because the strongest gets to be the captain." (Y/n) explains. "Why do you think we're training, huh?" Sabo joins in. "Yeah, whoever beats the tiger wins!" Luffy adds.

Naguri was growing annoyed. "The tiger again. I agree that a captain needs to be tough, but there is something more important than that you see. A different type of strength that would triumphed any foe." Now what Naguri said got the four kids attention. Sabo asked if he was able to teach them, but turns out that the old man forgot. This caused (Y/n), Sabo, and Luffy to be irritated by him. He laughs as Ace continued to stare at him.

Night had come as the children were asleep, well except for Ace. He can heard the hammering from Naguri, so he decided to try to talk to him. When Ace left, (Y/n) didn't felt his presence. She woke up and saw that he was gone. She thought it was weird. Carefully, she stepped away from her blankets as she tried not to wake her brothers. She walked outside and spotted Ace talking to Naguri. She couldn't hear them from where she was standing, so she decided to go back to bed since she thought it wasn't her concern. Right before she could go back inside, she saw Ace walking back. He was shocked to see her still awake.

"I thought you were asleep." Ace said.

"I was, but you weren't with us." (Y/n) told. "What were you and Naguri talking about?"

"Nothing. He was spouting a bunch of crap."

Hearing Ace saying that caused (Y/n) to giggle. Ace was confused on why she was laughing, but she stopped. "You may think stuff like that is nothing but crap at first, Ace but I bet that you'll remember it when you're older." (Y/n) smiled. Ace smiles at her as he shakes his head. "I don't think that will happened."

(Y/n) decided to change the subject. She moves closer to Ace, this caused the both of them to blush. "Have you decided what I am to you yet?" Ace looks away from her. "Not yet, but I know that you're very important to me." Seeing that was enough of an answer, (Y/n) decided to drop it. She took his hand and led him back with Sabo and Luffy. He didn't want to admit it out loud, but he liked it when (Y/n) hold his hand. Once they were all covered up. Ace saw that (Y/n) was fast asleep, so he took her hand and pulls it closer to him. Refusing to let go.

The next day, Naguri cuts the rope that holds the ramp as the boat slides into the ocean. The four kids stared in awe at the amazing work they have done. Naguri was standing on his new ship as he looked down at the kids. "I couldn't have done it without all of your help. Thank you, kids. I really mean that."
