Unexpected// Legolas

My mother smiled "There you are. I wonder where you two went." I smiled "I showed him around the village and I showed him Wonder and the stables" I thought that would be the end of our interactions but, boy was I wrong.

I heard the wind pick up. It was strange because, there was now wind ten minutes ago. "The wind is strong tonight" Legolas actually said something in front of his father. "Yes, let's go have dinner" His father spoke in a cold and mean tone. We walked straight to the dining room. My father pulled out my mother's chair. Before I could pull out my chair my father did it for me. I smiled and sat down. I waited for the servents to bring the food.

The food came out and mine came first then the rest. I waited patiently and when everyone's food came we started eating. "This is lovely, what is it?" King Thranduil spoke. "It's deer." My mother replied and took another bite. "The hunter must be a elite hunter. This buck was shot perfectly" Legolas admitted. I blushed and looked at my food. It was great to hear that Legolas enjoyed my hunting but still, it was, just embarrassing. "Actually, you should talk to Tanya. She is the hunter after all." My mother stated proudly again. My father scoffed. "No, lady should hunt, especially not a high ranking princess" Thranduil said. The wind picked up after this.

"The wind is really strong. I wonder if there is going to be a storm." I said trying to make small talk. I heard the thunder crashing down and the doors flew open. There was no one. I stood up and went to close the doors. I came back and heard it started to rain. "Once we are done eating, we should all go talk somewhere less loud." My father spoke loudly and Thranduil nodded his head yes. We all finished eating and left for the common room.

"We have something we have to discuss with you two" Thranduil spoke to me and Legolas. "Alright" I spoke and we all sat down. I sat with my mother and my father stood by the fire. Legolas was in one of the arm chairs and his father in the other. It was quite cold. The storm was still pretty bad. The wind was hurling in my ears and I really hurt.

"As you both know. You are both heirs to a throne. Me and Thranduil has came to a dission on how we can unite our kingdoms." My father spoke luod and clear like always. "Our dission is that, Tanya, you will marry Legolas. In the name of our countrys." Thranduil said. I opened my mouth but Legolas spoke before me. "WE CAN NOT BE MARRIED! IT IS SIMPLY OUTRAGEOUS. ELVES DON'T MARRY UNLESS IT IS TRUE LOVE. I HAVEN'T... WE HAVEN'T EVEN KNOW EACH OTHER A DAY!" I could tell Legolas was mad. "TANYA, WHAT'S YOUR TAKE ON THIS?" my father asked as if I really had a choice.

"I AGREE WITH LEGOLAS. BUT, WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT IT? IT'S NOT LIKE I JAVE A CHOICE. I NEVER HAD A CHOICE. DO WHAT YOU PLEASE, JUST TELL ME WHEN AND WHERE I HAVE TO STAND!" I was pissed. I stormed out of the common room and left for the stables. I heard my mother yell my name but I ignored it. To hell with them. I was soaking wet by the time I reached the stables. I saw Wonder cowering in the corner of his stable. He never liked this weather. I came in his stable and started to sing an old song that always calmed me.

"THERE WILL COME A SOLDIER, WHO'S CARRIES A MIGHTY SORD. HE WILL TEAR YOUR CITY DOWN. OH LEI, OH LIA, OH LORD. OH LEI, OH LAI, OH LEI, OH LORD. HE WILL TEAR YOUR CITY DOWN. OH LEI, OH LAI, OH LAI, OH LORD." I stroked his mane and climbed on his back. I didn't ride him, just sat there in peace.

"THERE WILL COME A POET, WHO'S WEAPON IS HIS WORD. HE WILL SLAY YOU WITH HIS TOUNGE. OH LEI, OH LAI, OH LORD. OH LEI, OH LAI, OH LEI, OH LORD. HE WILL SLAY YOU WITH HIS TOUNGE. OH LEI, OH LAI, OH LEI, OH LORD."I felt happy with Wonder. He was a good listener.

"THERE WILL COME A RULER. WHOSE BROW IS LAID IN THORN. SMEARED WITH OIL LIKE DAVID'S BOY. OH LEI, OH LAI, OH LORD. OH LEI, OH LAI, OH LEI, OH LORD." I didn't even notice that someone was with me "HE WILL TEAR YOUR CITY DOWN. OH LEI, OH LAI, OH LORD." I was shocked to see that Legolas sang the last part with me.

"It's a beautiful song. How do you know it?" Legolas asked. "Maybe because I came up with it." I bit my lip and climbed off of Wonder. "You came up with it?" I nodded and looked down. "So have you guys came to a conclusion?" I asked looking up again. "Yes, we will be getting married in a week's time." I was shocked, Legolas look down. "A week?! Alright" I nodded I knew that I had no say in this. I was my father's rag doll. He could do with me whatever he wanted. If I had to bend over backwards for him the I must. After all, I'm a girl, I need to sit still and look pretty.

I walked to the door but Legolas grabbed my arm. "I'm sorry. But I really didn't know, Meril" I smiled at the nickname. "I know, Nar" he blushed and looked away. I brought his his face to me and kissed him on the cheek. I blushed and walked away. (Meril means rose and nar means flame.)

I ran back to the palace. It was still pouring down rain. I bid my mother, father and Thrandui goodnight. I retired to my room and just sat there thinking. I was going to be a married women in a week's time...
