Lily:

I grab my suitcases as I turn to leave, with my parents behind me I walk towards Ace's car. He offered to drive Nathan and I as well as Olivia of course. Milo is driving Gabi, him, Eli and Athena.

Nathan helps me get my things in Ace's trunk, I can't believe we're going on vacation. Everything just happens. It's crazy how the world works.

Once we get inside of the car, Olivia turns on the music and Ace begins driving. I lay head onto Nathan's shoulder as we drive, with Nathan's arm around my waist I feel calm.

This is going to be the best vacation ever, I've seen so many beautiful pictures of the hotel and the city and its just perfect, it's so beautiful and everything I've ever wanted.

I'm pretty sure we rented a car so we wouldn't have to take like a million taxis. I even think Milo got us a 2023 Toyota Sienna which can hold up to eight people, so it's perfect. Of course, we have our amazing drivers Ace and Nathan since they're most likely to not be drinking when we go out, but we might also just walk around.

I talked to Olivia about the whole thing, about her parents paying. I always used to be jealous of her, she was pretty and sometimes smart, and everyone just always loved her. She wasn't afraid to speak her mind, as most people could clearly see.

It wasn't until we went to her house, I realized what was going on, I mean she's amazing at hiding it.

Flashback.

Olivia, Gabi and I have been friends for I don't even know how long now and it's my first time seeing her house. She always says its messy and it's not that exiting, but its huge and beautiful. Her parents must be amazing.

As we walk inside the house is silent, which is weird considering its around four. Olivia takes off her shoes and so do we.

She begins walking inside, without saying hello to her parents.

"you're not going to say hello to your parents" I ask, as Gabi and I follow her. Olivia stops and looks around.

"they're not home" she says quietly, I begin to worry because most parents should be home when their ten-year-old gets home. Right?

"When do they get home" Gabi asks from beside me, Olivia turns around and speaks.

"In around a week, I think."

What.

"Wait you're home alone" Gabi asks, Olivia nods like its normal to not have your parents around.

"How do you eat" I ask

"My neighbors come with dinner, and I can eat cereal alone. Plus, I have money to buy school lunch" she shrugs,

"Are your parents ever home" Gabi asks, I feel bad we're asking her so much but she just looks like its we're asking why she breathes air.

"Not really, but they get me gifts. Like last month right before they left, they gave me a new pair of shoes" she says smiling,

"How long have they been gone" I ask, tilting my head.

"Like a month then they come back, give a gift and they leave. They have a lot of work" she says calmly,

"Olivia, you know that's not normal" I say, it's just then Olivia looks confused.

"What, I mean it is, it's always been like that" she says trying to laugh it off.

"Do you wanna stay over at my place until your parents come home" I ask, I love Olivia with my whole heart, and I don't want her to be alone.

"Sure, I mean your mom makes amazing food" she laughs.
