Ah shit, here we go again...
Upon hearing his hungry whisper, I felt my body tense up with fear. Remember the last time a vampire whispered those words to my ears? Yeah, I'm not allowing that to happen again. I pulled away from the hug.
Relief then washed over me when I saw Jay's eyes. Yes, they were still red but it wasn't in its darkest shade. I guess Jay was just averagely hungry, especially after using his higher-class ability. Unfortunately, I had no blood boxes on me to offer. The orphanage had just ran out of blood boxes and the next shipment wouldn't arrive until tomorrow.
Jay looked at me with surprise as he saw my hand being lifted up towards him. My wrist was directly facing his lips. Immediately, he picked up what I was putting down; and he didn't want to accept the offer.
"Yuna, no, please," Jay begged, a little shaken and reluctant as he pushed my hand down. After making his latest kill, the last thing he probably wanted was to drink blood from another human that is his friend.
But I was stubborn. I lifted my hand up again. "Jay, you have to. I can't have you go feral again. This is all we got right now."
"But blood boxes exist! Get those!"
"You missed the announcement at breakfast, didn't you?"
"Well duh! Why do you think I was hiding in here?"
"Oh boy... Well to catch you up, blood boxes are unavailable until tomorrow."
"Shit! Ugh, guess I'll go hunting then."
"Hunt? When the sun's still out? Are you nuts?!"
"You're the one who's nuts for offering blood to a vampire who you saw kill someone!"
"I'm just trying to help a friend in need! So take some!"
"No!"
I could only sigh in frustration. This is obviously going no where. However, I was not going to give up. I have to get my friend to drink blood; and that's when I thought of the stupidest idea to make Jay drink my blood.
With the silver dagger I found, I made a cut on my wrist. Jay watched in horror as I did that to myself. "You idiot! Why would you do..." At the sight of the blood beginning to surface onto my skin, Jay's focus has then shifted to it and made him trail off on his words. His eyes were fixated onto the red liquid as his mouth began to drool.
He turned to me with a frown. "Please no. Don't make this hard on me," his voice sounded strained, as if trying to resist the call of blood for my sake. He shook his head as his eyes begged for me to not go through with this.
I was adamant in giving some of my blood for his consumption. I wasn't going to take 'no' for an answer. "Jay, listen to me. You'd go feral a second time if you don't drink any blood. Right now, as much as you hate to accept it, my blood is your only option. So for the love of god, drink this blood!"
No matter how many times Jay would deny it, he acknowledged that I'm right. I could tell he didn't want to do this. He could never imagine drinking from a friend of his. But like I said, he has no choice, and his sigh made it clear that he hated that it's the way it is right now.
With slightly trembling hands, Jay lifted my bleeding wrist onto his lips. He was hesitant. But when the blood touched his lips, he wasted no time in baring his fangs out and sinking it into my skin. A sharp pain shot through my entire body and then suddenly, it was gone. Instead, a warm sensation came from the bite. It didn't feel like searing, burning pain like with Sunghoon. This one felt like as if warm water was poured over my wrist; and that same warmth spread across my body.
