********
Naked and Afraid
********Maya McCall has been a lot of things in her life to a lot of different people. Her classmates would say she's the school 'freak'. Her teachers would say she's a good student burdened with mental health issues. Her friends would say she's a great friend with a bad habit of not leaning on them when in need. Her family would say she's just a bright girl with too much going on. The list goes on and on.
In her own head, she would classify herself as a burden. An unwanted cargo weighing down her friends and family. She's even considered herself the occasionally a nutcase. She has had enough mental health episodes to be fully committed in a psych ward. The only reason the doctors didn't feel it was necessary was because she was not dangerous. To herself or others. Although some would argue otherwise. Everyone tries to put her in a box ( she is guilty of it herself). No one really completely understands what she's going through. Especially now since all her issues seem to be intertwined with a supernatural destiny beyond basic comprehension.
Despite all the things she's been called, all the things she's referred to herself as, she has never once considered herself a disappointment.
Not until recently.
"Mom, I know. I'm sorry." Maya exasperated for what felt like the hundred time.
Her mother was standing in her hospital room with a scathing expression. Maya was slightly terrified because if it was legal the woman would probably bury her ten feet under just to resurrect her and do it all over again. She's seen her mother anger before, but never, never, this angry.
And it made Maya feel so much worse, knowing the anger was just an overlying emotion for fear. The fear of losing her daughter.
After their impromptu trip to the woods last night, Melissa was not happy. With any of the kids. The trio received a lecture last night. A very long lecture, an agonizing lecture. About how completely irresponsible it was for Maya to leave the hospital in her condition. How it was completely irresponsible for Stiles and Scott to let her. Her mother explained to them in a very frustrated manner that they almost gave her a heart attack.
Though she didn't mention it, Maya knew after her 'accident' (her near death experience). She never should have put her mother through that again. Especially so soon.
When Maya left, Melissa had the entire hospital on alert for any sign of her. At some point, she was began to worry her daughter and Lydia were somehow kidnapped. It seemed too much of a coincidence that they both disappeared at the same time. It was only after she involved the hospital police and the sheriff department that Stilinski and her realized what the teenagers were up to it. It wasn't too hard to figure out when none of them were answering their phones.
