Being at ball never interest him as much as reading financial journal. He would rather locked himself up in his study room and read the books or maybe do some mathematics. Men and women are everywhere to be found, some of them were hqving conversation on their own as it's the only chance to have communication with each other.

A few of women try to approach him but he would shrug them off by suddenly busy-ing himself up. He doesn't like a small talk. Never— “Why are you just standing here? ” his mother said, almost whispering, he turned to look at the mother who has her eyes glued to the crowd. Her smile never left her face as she was greeting everybody that came to the ball

“I love observing the people who came tonight”

“Do not make an excuse with me, son. I know that nobody has caught your eyes isn't it?”

He smiled, shrugging his shoulder before placing the glass that's on his hand away “Then why are you asking?”

“Are you really not going to talk to anybody? Perhaps i can introduce you to some of the nobleman daughter here or the earl's daughter? Mr Buck brought his daughter tonight” his mother offered before turning to look at the lady who's in the corner who has her eyes on them as well

“It's alright.” he answered shortly before excusing himself. It's better for him to walk around the garden than being locked up inside the house with thousands of people.

“Don't...me!” he turned around when he heard a voice. He must've gotten it wrong or he might be delusional. Oh, is he that tired that he heard a voice?

“Someone help!” he stopped his step again when he heard the voice. Pretty sure he's not delusional this time. He quickly make his way trying to find the source of the voice until he came across two people.

One man and one woman. The man was literally holding her wrist whlist she's struggling to get herself out from his strong grip. How could she get herself off when the man is doubled her size?

Of course, the man is Viscount Quentin. The man who once try to assault her sister and seeing him in his territory just make his blood boil to maximum.

“I assume you might want to let her hand go now” Tristan said calmly while his eyes slowly move toward the wrist

“This is not even your business anymore, My lord”

“It is never appropriate to touch women when they said no”. He answered again while the woman still struggle to pull away “She never say no! Don't make up a story”

“Her action speaks for her. Now let her go.” he demanded. His voice low as the male swallowed hardly before he turned to look at the woman he's holding “what are you doing? Let me go already!” she told him before he finally let her go and growl under his breathe

“Who are you to stop me? And don't ever interfere. This is between me and her—”

“This territory is mine. You might as well leave this place now as i do not wish to see you or even your silhouette around this place anymore. And if i do..” he stopped from talking as the man finally make his way away, leaving Tristan and the mysterious woman alone.
