Chapter 12: The weight of the words - I'm Sorry

"How about you Atsumu-san? Do you also have someone to marry in mind?" Hinata asked as the national team gathered up after their training for an invitation from their trainer, Iwaizumi Hajime who was going to get married.

"Of course. Hmph." He said as he remembered his first love's face.

"You are not even dating. Who are you going to marry?" Suna interceded.

"My first love..."

Their talk was interrupted by one of Iwaizumi's guest, a tall guy with fluffy brown hair, who joined their conversation. "Shoyo-kun!"

"Oikawa-san!" The two hugged that made the Miya-setter grumpy.

"So, we meet again, Miya Atsumu. What are you talking about?" Oikawa asked.

"Ah, it is just that Iwaizumi-san will marry her high school sweetheart and it got me curious about it. How about you Oikawa-san? Is Okanoue-san your first love? And you guys even got married after you graduated in high school."

The rest of the athletes who were listening including Miya Atsumu looked at the Argentinian setter.

"Hmm. I have been in and out of relationships back when I was younger but no one really stayed and supported me as what she did." Oikawa lovingly stared at his wife who was also greeting Iwaizumi.

"For me she is my one true love. Cringe? I don't care. That amazing girl is my wife. We got married a little earlier and it's okay. I am happy with my life with her. I don't think I can grow as an athlete as I am right now without her support. Her presence made me feel that I am worth it and I can do great things."

Atsumu sighed and asked Oikawa.

"But don't you think that giving space between the two if you will make the both of you grow in your respective careers? Aren't she an athlete as well?"

"Hmm. You have a point there but I think it really depends on how you guys will handle your relationship. She is already retired and pursue different career. As for us, she needs me and I need her. And hola! We are celebrating a decade of love with our ten year old daughter,  seven-year old son and ah later..."

"You look happy, Oikawa-san." Shoyo-kun praised Tooru as he saw the setter's aura telling his love story.
