Y/N and Sebastian quickly reached for their clothes and got dressed in a hurry. Y/N gently grabbed Sebastian's hand hoping that it would keep him calmed down, or rather, keep his dark side at bay for a bit.
The gate to the undercroft creaked open and through it stepped... Ominis.
Y/N and Sebastian both froze in place behind the pillar. Y/N sensed the tension in Sebastians body as he contained himself from lunging at his old friend then and there.
The gate shut behind Ominis as he had his wand in front of him, guiding himself through the room. "Y/N... I know you're in here"
Y/N turned to Sebastian and locked her eyes on him. He was staring blankly at the blind wizard in front of them, with his fist trembling at his side. Y/N shook him gently. "Hey... Sebastian..." she whispered as silently as she could. "Please give me a chance to handle this." Y/N begged. Sebastian shifted his eyes down to hers, softening instantly at her gaze. He gave her a reluctant nod and Y/N let go of his hand to approach Ominis.
"Hello Ominis...» Y/N said calmly as she emerged from behind the pillar.
«Oh thank Merlin, Y/N, you had me worried sick!» Ominis exclaimed sincerely as he took a step towards her, reaching out his arm. «This was the only place I could think of where...»
Y/N flinched back lightly at his gesture and Ominis stopped in his tracks as he noticed. His brows furrowed in a concerned expression as he opened his lips to speak again. «Y/N, listen... The book you took from my apartment, I didn't remove those pages.» He looked so sincere as he spoke, Y/N just didn't know who to trust.
«Where did you get it, Ominis?»
Ominis sighed. «It was in Sebastian's belongings at Hogwarts after he was taken. I felt that the pages were missing and I suspected... Well I suspected that you two might have gone through with it.» He paused for a moment. «Which is why I wasn't entirely surprised when you told me... And why I never stopped sending you owls, all these years because I wanted you to know that I would always, always welcome you back into my life.» Ominis inhaled, his breath was shaky as he prepared himself for his next confession. «Because I love you, Y/N. I always have and always will.»
Y/N felt a shallow gasp in her throat as she knew Sebastian had just heard this entire confession. The skin on her back ran cold as she caught a glimpse of his shadow emerging from behind the pillar. His breaths fast and strained.
Ominis furrowed his brows as he sensed another presence in the room. But before he could make out who it was, Sebastian broke the silence.
«Is that why you did it, Ominis? Is that why you sent me to Azkaban?!» His voice increased in rage as his sentence progressed. «So you could have Y/N to yourself, while I would rot in a cell?!»
Y/N was now standing between the two men as the tension thickened between them.
«Sebastian...» Ominis gasped in realization. «What are you- No... No I would neve-« He stumbled over his words.
«THEN WHY?! WHY DID YOU BETRAY ME, YOU WERE MY BEST FRIEND!» Sebastian's voice echoed through the cold stone covered room. His eyes were bloodshot with tears as he trembled in fury, his hand now clutched at his wand.
«I... I had no choice.» Ominis muttered, hanging his head down. «I wanted to tell you this when I came to visit you in Azkaban, Sebastian, but you made it quite hard.»
Sebastian was about to speak up again, but Y/N stopped him. «Wait, Ominis, what are you saying? You had no choice?»
«It was either him... or you, Y/N» Ominis admitted under a shaky voice. He lifted his head towards his peers. His hazy eyes filled with tears.
