Runaway Horse

~~ Chapter Eight ~~

I woke up ready for the day. I got up and fed Cali and Clover and got in the shower. After I did I put my hair in a side braid and put my clothes on and whent to the office. I opend the mailbox and there was my check. Don't worry I am officially 18. It was my birthday a couple days ago. Today is when I am going to try to train some of these horses. As I was walking to the stallions barn to get Bird I see someone had ahold of Sunstruck and was trying to get him in a trailer. "Hey what are u doing" I yell as I am furious that they are trying to take him. "This is our horse now youngin." The bald guy says. O no u don't I think to myself as I'm running up to them. I punch the bald guy in the nose and kick the other guy. I grab Sunstruck and run to the office and yell Lolla. She grabs her lasso and I grab mine and she calls the cops and we try them up before they can get up. After the cops got there and took them away I said to Lolla "I'm going to work with him tomorrow because of all he's been through today." "Sounds good but make sure to work Rum, Gunner, and Galaxy. And of course ur horse." She says and smiles. "OK". Since it was getting dark out I went and turned the arena lights on and went to go grab Bird. I reached his stall and put his bronc halter with a blue lead. I walk him to the cross ties and go get the brushes and tack. I grab the English saddle and the camo English pad and the bridle with a snaffle. After I get everything I brush him with the soft brush first then the curry and then the hard bristle brush. After I'm done brushing him I put the saddle pad and the saddle on him slowly to make sure he won't go crazy. And he just stands there so I put the girth on and I tighten it up slowly. One hole each time. After I did that I walk him to the arena. I got up on the mounting block and put slight pressure on his back. (I know what ur thinking I have already ridden him so why don't I just get on his back? Its because the saddle and u feel different so it'll be a different thing for them.) After u slowly put pressure on his back I slowly get on. After a minute or two just sitting there I click him on. And the whole training went like that. Stopping, starting, dismounting and mounting. It all went good. So after I know that he is good I untack him and brush him and put him back in his stall. Then I feed my horse and go back to my cabin. I set down food and water for the C team. (Cali and Clover) and take a shower, brush my hair and teeth and then go to bed. As soon as my head hits the pillow I fall asleep.
