Runaway Horse

~~ Chapter Six ~~

When I woke up I got scared. I didn't know where I was. Then I rememberd the ranch. I smiled to myself at finally having a place to stay. I got up, got dressed and grabbed a banana. Hey I really actually got fond of these. Anyway I went to the first cabin. I see Lolla the owner and walk over to her. "Miss Lolla I'm ready to work". I say. She nodds and shakes her hand towards her and I follow. She takes me to a barn. Well actually the stallion barn. They have three barns. One for stallions, one for geldings, and one for mares. The mares with foals go into a pasture. " OK I want u to start mucking out every stall. When u get them out turn them into the indoor arena. Do NOT turn them out together. Got it. OK do one at a time and I'll have Tanner to show u around and show u how to feed them. There are twenty stallions in all ten on each side. After u are done mucking I want u to brush them and give them a bath then feed them OK. Thanks. Now get to work." She says wow can I remember all of this. Maybe. I go to Sunstrucks stall and he is a beautiful palomino Arabian. I clip on his halter and lead and turn him into the arena and he takes of bucking and a running. I go to his stall and grab the pitchfork and a wheelborrow and get to work. After I'm done with his stall I go get him. After I clip on his lead he walks tiredly with me. I take him to the wash rack and grab some soap and a water hose. After I'm done washing him I brush him and let him dry while I go put another stallion in the arena. Nightmare is a pure black andulusian. After I'm done with him I get Suntstruck and put him in his stall. I do that to every stallion in the barn and I look around for Tanner. I see him in the tack and feed room so I go over to him. By each name plate of each horse are feed sacs. Tanner tells me how and how much to feed them. I reach for the scoop but find his hand is there alreadyalready and we touch hands. We look into each others eyes. Then I let go and blush. After we fed each stallion we gave them clean fresh water and I went back to cabin one. I nocked and she opens the door. I followed her to her desk. We both sat down. "Do u have aby extra stalls in the stallion barn I could put Bird in. He needs one. I'll go bye his feed and stuff but I need a stall." I say pleading. She says OK and leads me to his stall. I clip his lead onto his bronc halter and lead him to the stall. And i see its by a blue roan named Blue Rum. He is a Quarter horse. After that I go to my cabin and take a shower and get something to eat. I got a long day tomorrow. I lay down and go to sleep with Cali and Clover which is walking better. After about a couple minutes of thinking I drift off to sleep.
