(kalia's outfit for the beginning of this chapter is shown above!! but she also has a red jacket that matches the skirt)

Kalia usually loved staying up late. She was a night owl. Except when she had to stay up late to work on homework. In all honesty, it was all her fault for pushing it back and not doing it until the last minute. Her assignment she was working on was due tomorrow so she only had tonight to work on it. And part of her assignment made her have to be at the museum. She was friends with the security guards who worked there and since she was family friends with King Adam and Queen Belle she was able to be at the museum when others weren't allowed to. They all trusted her that she wouldn't do anything bad.

Kalia was currently taking a short break from her assignment. For her art class she had to draw a historical item that was in the museum. She picked the rose in the glass, she was always so fascinated by it. But she wished she picked something easier to draw like Cinderella's glass slipper or Genie's lamp because she had to add a lot of detail with the rose. She was halfway done with the drawing thanks to her being at the museum all evening and till the night. She even missed dinner to finish her assignment. Although Ben did convince her to take a break and eat something so technically she didn't really miss dinner thanks to him.

Kalia had her headphones on and was on her phone, quietly singing along to the song that was playing as she walked down the hallway. She didn't see the fact that the four VKs had ran into the same hallway she was walking down. They all froze when they saw her at the other end of the hallway.

"What is she doing here?" Jay questioned.

"Beats me." Mal shrugs. "We just have to distract her so we can get the wand."

"Carlos can do it." Evie suggested.

Carlos looks at her with panic. "What? Why me?"

Evie grins at him. "You seriously think that we didn't see you staring at her with lovey dovey eyes when we first got here?"

"Yeah, dude," Jay laughs. "It was obvious you have a crush on her."

"I don't have a crush on her!" Carlos defended himself, mentally scolding himself because of the way his face was heating up.

"Your red face says otherwise." Mal smiles with amusement. "Come on, just distract her long enough where we can get the wand and then we can leave."

"It's actually up stairs, so we don't have to go that way." Evie clarifies as she looks at her magic mirror. "But you should still keep her distracted so she doesn't find out about us being here."

"Fine." Carlos grumbled, his shoulders dropping in defeat. His friends all smile at him and run down the other hallway to the right before going up the stairs.

Kalia gasps, startled when she suddenly bumped into someone and that confused her because other than the security guard she was the only one there so who did she bump into? She lets out a sigh of relief upon seeing only Carlos standing in front of her. "Carlos," She pauses her music and takes her headphones off, letting them rest around her neck. "Man, you almost gave me a heart attack."

"Sorry for just appearing out of nowhere." Carlos apologizes. "Um, I was just wondering if you needed any help with whatever you're working on."

Kalia raises her eyebrows at him. "How did you even know I was in here?" She tilts her head to the side. "And how did you get inside?"

"I was taking a walk to clear my head when I saw you walk in here." Carlos lies, pointing over his shoulder to refer to the front door. "I got in since the door was unlocked."

Kalia groans in annoyance. "Dang it! I knew I should've double check to see if I locked it." She smiles at him and shrugs. "I don't really need help with my art assignment," Carlos nods slowly, looking a bit disappointed since this was honestly an excuse to hang out with her. He perks up at what she says next. "But I would love some company." She chuckles. "I spent a few hours here alone and I already started talking to myself."
