CHAPTER TWO
Strange Emotions
Benjamin's eyes lingered on Seilena, his gaze intense and unnerving. "Are you going to stare all day, or do you have something to say?" she asked, her voice laced with a hint of amusement as she shifted her body to face him.
Seilena tried to ignore the fluttering sensation in her stomach, but it was hard to do so when Benjamin's piercing topaz eyes seemed to bore into her soul. "What are you?" he asked, his voice low and husky, as if only she could hear him. Benjamin had a guess, he just wanted to confirm it. Seilena almost felt compelled to tell him just by the sound of his voice."Guess vampire boy," she said with a smirk, leaning on her hand in a nonchalant manner. She knew that Benjamin would likely research the Adaener name by tomorrow, but she couldn't help but wonder if Rosalie and he were part of the same coven.
"Is it that obvious?" Benjamin asked, sliding his headphones onto his neck instead of leaving them dangling from one ear. "The pale skin, the unusual eyes, the cool air emanating from you... Yeah, I'd say it's pretty obvious to me. Now guess!"
"Well, based off the sythe on your necklace.. It definitely has something to do with the afterlife. There is only one known Adaener family that has that as their crest and looks like a regular person. Stop me if I'm wrong." He said smirking at the girl. "No fun. You already know then." She jokingly frowned.
"Enough flirting you two" Ms. Parker interrupted the conversation. The two weren't embarrassed to get caught at all. One shrugged as the other laughed. The teacher shook her head with a smile and resumed teaching about ceramics. Class passed by fast much to Ben's dismay. Fortunately, he looked at her schedule unbeknownst to her and they had lunch together.
"Until we meet again, my love." Benjamin said softly. The girl was taken aback at the sudden nickname. Her cheeks warmed up and she hastily walked away leaving the brunette boy laughing. She could handle a lot —or she thought she could. Who knew that the boy she met today could make her embarrassed and cause her to panic a little. Seilena caught up with a girl she met in French, Angela, and they walked to the cafeteria.
While Angela was getting shots for the newspaper, Seilena was getting lunch. Surprisingly the school had a good amount of options to choose from. She grabbed cheese fries, a burger, and a cold water. After giving the lunch lady what she owed, Seilena scanned the room looking for either her siblings or Bella.
They were sat at a table that was kinda of in the center. Apparently the people at the table were Angela's friends so it worked out. Seilena waited for Angela to be done taking photos before she followed her to that table.
She sat next to her brother and started eating her cheese fries while Bella got her picture taken for the feature. "The features dead, Angela. Don't bring it up again" Eric said abruptly getting up, "I got your back, baby"
