"And where did you run off to?"

Felix smiled at his best friend, "Ah, Jisung, I just went to the gardens, I needed a moment to breathe," he answered.

"These soirées do get quite stuffy. Where is your guard, Hyunjin?" Jisung asked.

Felix's face heated up at the mere thought of his guard.

"He went to fetch the carriage,"

Jisung nodded, "Minho went to do the same, saying that I have danced with enough gentlemen for the night,"

   Felix laughed lightly.

"Is he perhaps jealous that all your attention is on everyone but him?" Felix asked.

"I do not believe so, it would be rather silly if that was the case," Jisung said.

"And why would it be silly?"

"Because as he has said time and time again, he does not believe in love,"

   Felix hummed.

"Your royal highness," a voice called out softly, capturing Felix's attention.

Felix smiled seeing Chaewon, "Your Grace, hello,"

"I was wondering if I could perhaps steal you away from Lord Han for a dance?" She asked.

"Of course, you may steal him away," Jisung said pushing Felix forward.

Felix gave her a tight-lipped smile and took her hand, the two going to the dance floor.

Jisung smiled seeing his best friend talking and laughing with the duchess.

"Lord Han, have you seen Prince Lee?" Hyunjin questioned, as he walked up to the young viscount.

"Ah, he is dancing with Duchess Kim, just over there," Jisung said, gesturing to the pair on the floor.

Hyunjin looked to the dance floor, his lips pressing together as he took a deep breath. Jisung smiled and hummed, pleased with the small reaction.

"The song is almost over; he shall be all yours in just a moment, no need to be all huffy," The brunet stated.

"I am not huffy," Hyunjin scoffed lightly.

"Mm, perhaps I was wrong than,"

"I am not one to tell a viscount when they are wrong; but I have known you since I was two, so in short you were wrong,"

Jisung chuckled lightly, "If you say so,"

  "I do say so,"

"My lord, it is time to leave," Minho said, swiftly putting Jisung's hat on his head.

"But I have yet to say goodbye to Felix or Seungmin," Jisung pouted.

Minho sighed, deflating slightly, "We shall wait for Felix to come off the dance floor. Seungmin is right over there quickly say goodbye," he said.

Jisung smiled and bounced over to his other best friend.

"Why are you in such a rush to leave?" Hyunjin questioned.

"Jisung has had ten dances tonight and it is getting late; I do not want to deal with a whining and tired Viscount on my hands," Minho stated.

   Hyunjin hummed.

"I saw the princes' carriage being brought around. Why are you guys leaving so early?"

"It is late, and this soiree is coming to a close,"

   Minho nodded, "No other reason?"

Hyunjin shook his head, his eyes following every move that Felix was making, "Why would there be another reason?" he asked quietly.

"There isn't... purely curious," Minho said.

"Did you have a good time the Soiree tonight?" Hyunjin asked Felix.

Felix nodded and clasped his hands in front of him.

"I was a little surprised to see you dancing with Duchess Kim,"

Felix's head snapped up to look at Hyunjin.

"What do you mean?" Felix questioned.

Hyunjin licked his lips, "I just mean that we were about to leave, and you began another dance,"

   "Oh,"

There was tension in the air that both of them noticed but neither of them addressed.

   It felt almost suffocating.

When the carriage came to its stop Felix left out a soft breath.

Hyunjin stood slightly and opened the carriage door, exiting he held his hand out for Felix to take.

They did it all the time; Felix grabbing Hyunjin's hand as he exited the carriage, but this time it felt different.

Hyunjin held his breath as he stared at their hands. When Felix was safely on the gravel ground Hyunjin pulled his hand away swiftly and let out a breath.

"Ms. Bae, please escort Prince Lee to his chambers,"

Felix looked at Hyunjin confused, "You are not going to escort me?"

"Not tonight, I have an errand to run that is urgent. Ms. Bae will make sure you get to your chamber safely," Hyunjin said.

The prince pursed his lips and nodded. He followed the woman into the palace, his mind consumed with thoughts of his dear guard.

"How was your night, prince?" Irene asked.

Felix gave her a smile, "Very uneventful,"

   "No one caught your eye?"

Felix thought back to the garden for a moment, "No, no one captured my attention," he said.

  No one caught my attention...
