Chapter 5

Gray POV

We started running after Kageyama and trying to catch up to him before he uses the Lullaby flute. "If we don't get there in time, he will try to get Jessica to play the flute," Lucy said, worried. "We'll get there, I promised we would save her," Natsu said and kept running.

Jessica POV

I was yelling at Kage to let me go, but before I could convince him we ditched the magic mobile. "Now, you have a choice, play the flute or I rampage your village and you will watch innocent people die," he threatened and I froze in shock. "Alright, I'll do it," I said with a sad tone. I grabbed the flute from him, when a short old man walked out from behind a tree. "Why hello, young lady, what brings you out here?" He asked me. I looked back to Kage and he motioned for me to lie to him. "Oh, I was just walking the mountains looking for a place to play my flute," I old him sweating. "Well, that's creepy looking flute," the man said. "Jessica!!!" I heard Kage yell as he turned he tree. "There you are, why did you wonder off," He said with a small laugh. "Why hello sir," He said sweetly. "Hello young man. You know this young lady," the old man asked. "I was about to send a search party to find her," Kage said. "As I was saying sir, I would love to play my flute for you, would you like to hear a song," I asked him. "Alright let's here it," he said and I thanked him before bringing the flute to my mouth to play. I activated my magic but I paused before I started playing. 'I don't want to do this, but I also don't want to watching innocent people die,' I thought. "Listen I don't have all day," the man said and looked determined. I brought the flute to my mouth agian. "What are you waiting for, you have the opportunity to play," Kage said to me with a fake smile. 

"Listen, weaklings will stay weak forever. But weakness is not evil, since human beings are weak ceatured to begin wiith. Alone, you feel nothings but insecurtiy; that's why we form guilds, that's why we have friends. We walk together in order to love a strong life. The clumsy ones will wal into more walls than the others, and it may also take them longer to get there. If you believe in tomorrow put yourself out there, you can naturally obtain your strength. That's how you will be able to smile and live strong," The old man said. I was shaking and eventually I just dropped the flute. "I can't do it, I won't listen to you anymore," I said to Kage and he dropped to the ground in defeat. "I surrender, and you village will go unharmed," he said, defeated. 

I dropped to the ground too, breathing heavily and relieved it was all over. I heard voices coming down the hill and I saw the Fairy tail members, that came to save me, running down. I felt arms wrap around me and started to lift me up. I looked over to find Gray. "Hey you alright?" he asked me. "Not really, but I will be," I said with a small smile. We were celebrating over it being over until the lullaby flute started to rise and it shot into my hands. I felt and shock went through my body and on instinct I activated my magic. "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!" I yelled in pain. The flute started to glow and I was consumed in a ball of light and I blacked out.

Gray POV

I was celebrating with Jessica, then the lullaby flute was suddenly in her hands. She cried out in pain and a ball of light engulfed her and she went silent.  Then a deep voice came from the ball of light, "I'm tired of all you gutless humans, especially the one who was supposed to activate me," the voice said. "Now I'll feast on all of your delectable souls," It continued. Then the light faded revealing a huge monster made of wood with three eyes.

But as I looked closer at the monster, I saw Jessica trapped chest of the monster, she looked to be hung, unconscious. "Oh My God, it has Jessica trapped in its chest," Lucy shouted, and everyone gasped. "Ah, to be free again. Now which soul should I dine on first?" The monster said. Then we heard shouting from far away and saw that the army has come but they were retreating. The monster noticed and didn't go after them. "I don't want any mere human soul, I must rather enjoy the taste of a wizards soul," It said as it looked at us. "Do you think souls are really that tasty?" Natsu asked with a sparkle in his eye. "How am I supposed to know? and you should be worried about more important things right now, like maybe Jessica who is trapped in that thing?" I retorted back at him serious. "Oh right," he said and he looked at the monster determined. 

"Ok, boys main goal here is making sure that Jessica isn't harmed in the process on defeating this thing, next is making sure that no one else is harmed as well," Erza said stern. "Right," me and Natsu said at the same time. "Alright lets do this!!! Gray, make sure everyone is in a safe place," Erza told me and I nodded. After I placed an ice shield in front of the masters I ran back to the other two. "Alright lets do this," Erza said and we all launched forward to fight this monster. I was on a cliff side and launching spells at the monster from the side. "ICE MAKE LANCE!!!!" I shouted and four large spears went toward the demon. It hit him and he winced in pain, Natsu and Erza also went for it. "Natsu, be careful, remember Jessica is in that thing!!!" Erza shouted. "Oh, right my bad," He said scared. The demon started to yell, "Pathetic, your attacks had no  affect. HAHAHA NOW I WILL PLAY MY SONG OF DEATH FOR YOU ALL!!!!" The demon started to suck all the life out of the plants from the surrounding area. As it went to   "Alright one last attack and we should have it neutralized. "ICE MAKE SAUCER!!" "FIRE DRAGON WING ATTACK!!!" "AHHHHHHH UGHHHHH!!!" We all casted our last spells at the monster and it collapsed and turned back into a flute, but Jessica wasn't returned to the ground. "Wait Where's Jessica??" Lucy asked.
