Dark Morphix (Gray Fullbuster x oc)

Chapter 6

Gray POV

"WHERE'S JESSICA?!?!?" I yelled out and everyone noticed she wasn't on the ground where the lullaby flute re-appeared. "I don't know!" Lucy said worried. "JESSICA!!!" Natsu yelled out, and started to look around. "Uh, guys, I think you should see this," Lucy said. We looked in her direction and saw a huge crater where the conference hall should be. "They destroyed the conference hall!!!" A guild master yelled out. I looked closer into the crater and saw a small figure on the ground. "Oh my Mavis!!! Jessica is down there!!" I yelled out and the team ran over. 

Before they reached the end I had already made an ice slide to get me down there. I got to the bottom and ran over to her and kneeled down. "Jessica, say something, please wake up," I said worried and desperate for her to wake up. She shifted in her unconsciousness, and I turned her on to her back. "Is she waking up?" Lucy yelled from the top of the crater. "No!! she is still unconscious," I shouted back. I went to pick her up to get her back to the top of the crater, but when I touched her I was stunned, she was burning up. 

"Gramps, you may want to come down here, she's burning up!!!" I yelled and Master walked to the edge and jumped down and walked over. "My child, what do you mean?" he asked. "When I went to touch her, she was extremely hot to the touch. We need to get her out of this hole, but I can't touch her," I explained. "I see, NATSU GOT DOWN HERE!!" he yelled out, as if he has a plan. "Yes Gramps?" Natsu asked. "I need you to carry this young lady to the surface so we can figure out what is happening," Gramps explained. "Yes sir," he replied and went to pick up Jessica. He kneeled down and picked her up and used my ice to carry her up. I followed and so did Gramps and we all made it to the surface and lucy sighed in relief. "Oh thank goodness, she looks fine," she said. "She is burning up, she was so hot I couldn't touch her," I said looking down at Jessica on the ground asleep. "Why don't you use your Ice magic to cool her down?" Erza suggested. "Good Idea Erza," I replied. I walk over to her and activated my ice magic to cool her down. As I brought my hand over her head, she started to breathe hard and she looked uncomfortable. "What's happening?" Erza asked. "I don't know, she just started to do that as I moved my ice over her," I said. "Well that didn't work," Lucy said. 

"Wait a minute, I remember something from when I was learning about her magic,"  she stated. "And what was that?" Erza asked. "like I said earlier, The power she has is known as the Dark Morphix, and she has the power to activate some of the most evil magic on the continent. This magic was passed down from generation to generatio, but each person to receive is would turn dark and evil. Well Jessica was different, she had the brightest light in her heart that her magic couldn't even cloud it," she started. "Yeah, so what? we already knew that," I said confused. "Well because the darkness never took her over, she is forced to fight off the take over so she isn't under its control. I think that the heat is the light inside of her fighting off the darkness that was present when she activated Lullaby," Lucy said to us and we gasped. "The cold made her breathe hard because it was cooling the heat that is the light to fight off that darkness," she finished and we all looked at Jessica. "That makes sense," Master Bob said. "Legend has it that the Dark Morphix is the power to turn light into darkness. Because of that, there are many different evil doers, because it is said to be created by the Black Wizard Zeref. This makes many evil doers greedy to have a taste of the magic power, but it can't be extracted from the holder, making the holder the true target for dark guilds and their evil plans," he finished. "So she has been a target her whole life," Lucy said sad and worried. "Yes, since she inherited the magic," Gramps replied. "Oh my god," I said in disbelief.

It's been a couple of hours since the battle against Lullaby and Jessica still hasn't woken up. We were now in the town of clover waiting for her to wake up, and I'm really worried about her, but I still can't figure out why I feel this way toward her. I just met her, but she feels like someone that I've known my whole life. I was lost in thought when Natsu came in with Lucy and asked, "How is she?" "Still out, it's been hours," I told her stressed and frustrated. "Gray, can I speak with you for a moment?" Erza said after peeking her head in. "Yeah? sure," I replied, confused. I walked out of the room and met with Erza. "Is there a reason you feel the need to be by her side at all times?" She asked me. I looked at her shocked, "No I can't make any sense of it, but I just have this feeling that she is a special person to me," I said looking down. "Very well, if you can't make sense of i-" she was cut off by the door opening quickly. "Guys, she's waking up," Lucy said, panicked. I rushed in the room and I to the side of her bed. "Jessica, wake up," I told her and she stirred. "Please, open your eyes," I said again. She stirred again. I placed my hand on top of her's and I felt a rush, my eyes widened. "What was that?" Lucy asked. "I don't know, it happened after Gray touched her," Natsu said. "Do it again Gray, It was very positive energy,"Erza said. I touched her hand again, I just didn't pull away this time, she continued to stir, until she started to open her eyes.

"Gray?"
