Chapter 8

Gray POV

"Gray we need to talk," Erza said. I looked at her confused but got up and followed her outside the room. "What is it Erza?" I asked her. "I have something about Jessica and her magic and it has to do with you," she told me. My eyes widened and she looked very serious about this. "What is it?" I questioned. "Well, there is a person that is chosen by fate to be the one to love the holder of the Dark Morphix. This person helps to strengthen the darkness in their heart and give them strength again," she stated, and my eyes widened further. "What does that have to do with me?" I asked, thinking I already knew the answer. "Well, when Jessica was unconscious, you touched her an extremely positive energy went off and that is what woke her up. I'm almost positive that this was due to that legend with the Dark Morphix, but there is a small difference," she trailed off. "And?" I questioned. "The energy wasn't negative, like the legend states, as you know. But I think this has to do with the light in Jessica's heart never going dark," she started, "The energy that you gave her, that woke her up, was the energy of the soulmate to the Dark Morphix. She is the holder that never went dark, you are the destined lover, and you are her healer," she said and I looked at her shocked.

'I'm the destined lover of the Dark Morphix?!?! How is that possible?!?! Maybe that explains why I felt a connection to Jessica when I first as her, and why I felt like I've known her forever, I'm her healer,' I thought happy, but also kinda freaked out. "I'm her healer?!" I asked out loud. "Yes, and you can keep her light from ever going dark," Erz said. I smiled and ran back to Jessica

Jessica POV

I was just sitting in my hospital bed, looking out the window when Gray came back in the door. "Hey Jessica," he said. "Hey, what was that about?" I asked. "Oh, you may want to prepare yourself," he started and I looked at him worried. "I'm your healer," he said with his eyes closed, looking nervous about what I would say. "What do you mean?" I questioned confused but shocked. "Have you heard of the legend of the lover of the Dark Morphix?" he asked. "Yeah, my father told it to me when I was young, wh?..." I questioned but trailed off. "Wait, you don't mean? You him, the one connected to my soul? My soulmate?" I questioned in disbelief. "I suppose I am," he said and my eyes teared up. "It's you, and I couldn't have asked for someone better," I told him as the year rolled down my cheeks. He grabbed my hand and his thumb rubbed circles on the back of it. "I couldn't have asked for a better holder to be bonded to," he said and I hugged him. He hugged me back and I cried into his shoulder.

Gray POV
It was the next day and I was about to go tell Jessica that she could leave the hospital. I wanted to ask her to come back to Fairy Tail with us. I need to ask Gramps about it before though to make sure he was ok with it.

"Hey Gramps, can I ask you something?" I asked him. "Sure, my boy, ask me anything," he replied with a smile. I took a deep breath and spoke, "I was wondering if we could bring Jessica back to Fairy Tail, I think it would be a good thing for her and she can make friends, and we can be close by," I told him. "I think that is a wonderful idea, Gray, I just want you to understand the circumstances that come with her coming with us. She could be a potential target for other dark guilds, and we must protect her with everything we have because she will be family. But as her bonded soul, you must be the one who is their party for the most," he told with a serious face. I nodded and stood to walk out. "Yes sir, I understand, I have to be there for her no matter what," I said and walked out the door.

I walked into Jessie's room and she smiled when she saw me. "Hey, so when do I get out of here?" She asked. I chuckled, "actually you get out today, but I want to ask you something," I said. She nodded, telling me to go on. "I want you to come back to Fairy Tail with me and my team, we are going back today and I think being in a guild would be good for you, and you can be close to me," I told her grabbing her hand in mine. She looked shocked but happy. "I would love to join Fairy Tail!!!" she said hugging me.
