I was glad to have made a friend so quickly. Not that I've told my mother much about him. She would give me the speech she always does, "don't get attached to anyone. We'll just end up moving away again." Yet she's the one that sends me to whatever social event she can find in town and gets mad if I don't speak to anyone. She's a very confusing woman indeed. Thankfully she isn't very smart. If I say, "I'm going on a walk," her mindset is, "I don't know where you're going but I gonna ignore it completely just as long as you're back before midnight." That's what I told her when I exited the house today. I was actually going on a walk but I didn't mention I was going with a friend.
That friend was now laying beside me, asleep. I don't know how he trusted me enough to follow me into a forest, despite the fact that he kept asking if I was kidnapping him. It was so odd how our relationship formed so quickly but I was okay with that.
"What are you thinking about?" I hear Tubbo ask beside me.
I didn't even realize he woke. I look over at him to see that he's still laying down but looking up at me.
"Just about why I decided not to kidnap you."
"So you were gonna kidnap me? I KNEW IT!"
I laugh.
"So why did you not kidnap me?"
"I won't have any friends in this town if I kidnap the only one I have, also from what you've told me about Tommy, he would definitely murder me."
He laughs. His laugh wasn't exactly a girls laugh but it also wasn't a deep pitch like a guys was supposed to be. It was nice.
"Definitely. So where have you taken me?" he asks, getting up from the grass. I get up too.
"The end of the forest, like I said."
He doesn't know where we are because he got tired halfway and I carried him. Then he eventually fell asleep. Now he was barely waking up.
"Woah. I thought it would just be more land or a road," he says, looking at the lake infront of us.
"Have you've never been at the end of the forest? You said you've been in this forest?" I ask.
"I haven't tried going all the way to the end ever since Tommy and me got lost for almost a whole day once. Had the whole town searching for us. We got out by ourselves though."
He goes over to the water and feels it with the tips of his fingers.
"It's warm! Maybe one time we can go swimming if we want to."
"Sure. Anything you want, Bee."
"Anything?"
"Sure I guess."
"Tell me about you. I've already pretty much told you everything about me, so now you tell me about you in exchange."
He sits down. I go over and sit down next to him.
"What do you wanna know about me?" I ask.
"Whatever you wanna tell me."
"Hmm well I moved here because in my old town no one liked me. They wanted me and my mom out. They would throw rocks through our windows and we even got threats to have our house burnt down. We left after our landlord purposely raised the rent. My mom didn't feel like boycotting it."
"What really? What did you guys do?"
"Nothing. My sister's been missing for a year now and guess it spread gossip. The first rumors were that we killed her and then there was ridiculous rumors that ate her or that we sold her to mythical creatures that we apparently have contact with. My townspeople were extremely dumb." I'm not really lying, am I?
