When Will came back everything went back to normal, or I think what was normal for Hawkins. I went to school like normal and finished out my junior year. Still, I couldn't shake this feeling like everything that went on the year before wasn't a coincidence. However, life moved on and summer came and went. I didn't really do all that much during that time except for hanging out with the Hellfire Club and working as a lifeguard for some extra cash. Life was finally back on track, and I was beginning to actually kinda like this place. Then October rolled around.

"Where were you yesterday? I had to sit in Mrs. Harris' class, alone!" I looked up at my best friend Eddie Munson. "I was...working," Eddie said, averting my gaze. "You were off getting high again weren't you?" I asked, glaring up at him. "Maybe I was, maybe I wasn't," Eddie shrugged, "You need to stop missing class." I scolded reaching up and smacking him upside the head. "Ow!" He yelped, rubbing the back of his head. "Don't do it again," I glared, "Okay, okay, I promise. Scout's honor," Eddie said, doing the scout's honor sign. "I'll hold you to that promise Munson." I glared, "Hey, Emma." Nancy said, catching my attention, I was mainly surprised that Nancy Wheeler was speaking to me. "Hey, what's up Nance?" I asked stopping to chat with her. "Uh, I heard Terran and Osiris were joining in with the boys for trick or treating tonight, and that reminded me of the fact that Steve is having a party, we invited Evelyn and we were going to invite you, but well we-" I cut Nancy off, "I'll see if I can make it Nancy, thank you for inviting me, it was very thoughtful of you." I said smiling at her, "Awesome, uh you can bring your friend too if you want." Nancy gestured to Eddie, "Okay, again I'll see if we can come." I smiled, Nancy then left and I looked over to Eddie who was confused, "My sister is popular, she probably was just being nice." I said, sighing a bit, "Yeah it's just weird is all." Eddie laughed a bit, I turned around walking backwards, "What that my sister insists on me coming with her while she's dolled up like Barbie and I'm just there awkwardly holding her purse?" I chuckled. "No, the weird part is that Nancy Wheeler actually acknowledged my existence." Eddie laughed, "Anything can happen on Halloween," I laughed turning around only to walk straight into a metal locker door. "You mean like that?" Eddie asked, holding back a laugh. "Shut the hell up," I huffed.

"Here," I heard a male voice say as I saw a hand reaching out to help me up. I take it feeling myself being pulled to my feet only for my face to be at eye level with a guy's chest. I looked up going wide-eyed when I met the familiar ocean-blue eyes. "You okay?" He asked, "Yeah, I'm fine." I said, still stunned, he let go of my hand before saying, "Good, watch where you're going," and with that he walked away. I stood there stunned, "What a jackass," Eddie huffed, "Billy..." I said under my breath not paying attention to Eddie. "Wait, you know him?" Eddie asked shocked, "I-" I looked ahead at Billy who was flirting with some random girl, "No...I guess I don't" I sighed, "I'm heading to class, see ya Eddie." I said walking away trying to figure out what the hell happened to him. I sat down at my desk trying to figure it out, I decided that I'd just ignore him. He clearly decided to do the same to me, at least that's what I thought until he sat down at the desk behind me. I knew it was because it was the only one that was free, or at least that's what I thought. However, in the three classes we had together he was somehow, someway, near me. When the day was over I was relieved, and I just went home debating on if I was going to Steve's party or not.

My train of thought was broken though when my disheveled brothers walked in, "I'm gonna go fix the proton pack, you go fix your glasses," My brother Osiris said walking upstairs, my other brother Terran nodded as he goes in the kitchen pausing when he saw me. "What happened to your glasses?" I asked, looking at him. "I-" Terran looked down, "I fell off my bike because some lunatic ran us off the road." I nodded, grabbing the tape and sitting at the kitchen table helping him fix his glasses, "Some people can be so careless," I said frustrated, "Do you know who did this?" I asked, looking at him, Terran looked away. "Well...our new friend Max, I saw her getting into the car that nearly ran us off the road..." Terran said before looking back up at me. "New friend?" I asked, raising a brow, "Yeah, she's new in town, she just moved here from California." I froze looking at Terran in shock, that's when it clicked as to who did this. I handed Terran back his glasses quietly. "I think her stepbrother was the one driving, but that's all I got." Terran sighed, "Thank you for telling me." I said before standing up and going to my room.
