Max's POV

There was a plan. I was okay with it, waiting till the end of the season seemed reasonable. But well, most of the times the universe doesnt want your plans to work.

-Okay I need to go, Marie must be looking for me.- She had come to my drivers room with the excuse that I had kept her lucky hair tie and that she couldn't drive without it. But I've seen her drive with rubber bands of at least five different colors this season so I know she only did it so she could come here before we started the race.

-No, don't go, stay a little while longer.- I took her by the waist and pulled her close to me once more.

It was a long shot, my team will probably come to look for me soon too but I just wanted a couple more minutes.

-You know I cant. And remember, I love you, but every time I get in that car you are no longer my boyfriend.

She reached for the sleeves of her suit and tucked her arms through them, still leaving the zipper half-closed.

-And when will I be again?- I tease her.

-When I get off the podium, obviously.

-That if you get on it.- she knows I'm only joking, I'm always rooting for a podium for both of us. Me on the top step but a podium nevertheless.

-Oh belive me, I will.

She left a quick kiss on my lips before adjusting the ponytail she was wearing and puting on her sunglasses.

Just as she was leaving my drivers room, my sister Victoria arrived with my nephews.

-Avery! What a surprise, it has been so long!- my sister said while bringing the boys inside and closing the door behind them.

-Victoria, hi!- she puts her sunglasses on her head and looks at my sister and the children with a smile.- And who are these two little ones?

-So this is Luka, say hi Luka.- my oldest nephew took a step closer to Avery and she got down to his height.

-Hi!- Ave offered her hand for a high five but instead he went for a hug that got her so unprepared that almost made them both fall into the ground. Because he's my nephew, otherwise I would have taken his little hands off her.

-And the little one is Lio, he's a bit more shy.- Lio hid his face in my sister's hair while Luka came to me and I picked him up too.

-My goodness they are so cute, I am so happy for you Vic.- She said sincere.

-It has been...- my sister started, leaving the younger one on the floor for him to come greet me too.

-Almost nine years, yes.- It seems that she realizes that she had to go because her eyes widen suddenly and she looks at me for a second- It was nice to see you but you know...cars.

-Yeah, yeah, don't let me distract you anymore, good luck out there!

The Canadian left the room, closing the door behind her and my sister left Lio on the floor.

-So...- nope, I dont like that tone one bit.

-And how are my favorite people in this world doing?- I pick up Lio from the ground as well and he clings to me like a koala, they were growing so fast that soon I wasn't going to be able to do this anymore.

-Max- My sister insisted.

-What?- I try to play dumb.

Can't two people be in the same room anymore without being questioned or what? Ok, she has reasons to question me, but still.
